COMPETING THEMES (177)

1. All Around The World: a real-world country is chosen by the host. All artists competing in this event must be from the chosen country. In the case of groups, the majority of people in the group must be from the country. The song can be in any language.

2. AATW type of Spinoff but with NSC nations

3. AI Cover Spinoff

4. Covers & Remixes 5: everyone has to send cover or remixed version of a song previously entered in the main contest, including the original versions of songs whose covers or remixes were entered in NSC.

5. Major/Minor: songs changed from major into minor key (and vice versa)

6. NSC ESC Classic: any entry from any year allowed

7. NSC NF

8. Oldies: tba, the host can decide the timeframe

1. Players sign up for the spinoff.
2. From the pool of participants, a country is randomly assigned to each player.
3. Then they have to pick a song from an artist the country they're "stealing" from has sent to NSC/WLSC.

Might be kinda fun with a more restrictive choice - more likelihood that you have to go out of your comfort zone and discover a new genre or artist to send

So the confirmation period needs to be twice as long or so?
Why don't we open a surrogate confirmation thread now (WISN 138 style) while we're still looking for the host so nations can register their intent to participate (by just posting), then start part 2 of confirmation (entries) once we have a host?

Aw, thank you for the mention. Though I suppose “want to host Congrats?” is just code for “your results are so bad that you never get to host anything else, so let’s give Congrats to you out of pity”. ^^

Now the fact that all my previous hostings were marked by spectacular fuckups doesn’t sound like a good omen, but truth be told, these were mainly related to me not being able to post all the results scoreboards (because of my messy time schedule which also causes me to miss LLs I host ^^), and I’d love to take care of everything else. I already have a person in mind who owes me something (soon you’ll see who this is), and if I can simply send all the scoreboards with all my collected votes to that person who simply posts them, I’ll accept. The prospect of hosting is just too tempting.

EDIT: Keep in mind this isn’t a definite “yes”. I’ll make a decision soon enough during 140.
