Well there are no penalties obviously, I just wonder what the idea would be. I mean why does it matter what word you get?

Depends on what songs I get to find and send. If it is not to my liking enough, I find it somewhat wrong to present it to a community on my behalf.

The contests are not about achieving some proxied glory through songs that are not yours. Well, they are not for me anyway and especially this one isn’t. We all went digging for gold and many of us came back more or less empty-handed. It matters not. This spin-off is about honouring the search, not the gold. You will receive a word later tonight and if you decide not to join because you can not find anything good that is of course your own choice to make.

We're all different. ;) For me it's not about any type of glory, but I would not send a song I didn't like to a spinoff. I've got my entire ::bal history in a YouTube playlist, and I like every single piece of that playlist. Some more than others tho. I was lucky with my word here, regardless of which song wins the NF, the song I send will be an awesome addition to the ::bal history. It'll probably end in the bottom of the results tho, but that's less important to me. :)

I barely manage to do well with the songs that are to my liking in the actual NSC. My qualification rate is below 33%, but I still don't change my plans for the NSC. The point is not "doing well", it is about sending something that I like myself, that represents my music taste.

Anyway there is no direct answer to my question to begin with until I am awkwardly criticized for my mindset. I don't want to be a part of this spin off.

Fair enough, but it's still basically just your own vanity being a dominant factor. This is fine normally, and really I don't care in general, but in this specific case it is literally asked I do a task for this dude and based on the result of that there might be a return or not. If I simply point out the vanity or egoism involved I get some passive aggressive statement about him backing down. Okay.

Well, probably me being Dutch and rude and all that. Let's just bury this shit and continue.

We're at like 32 now. Almost 33, but I kind of bungled that one as you can see. Ask all your friends and family, let's make this as big as we can.

We used to regularly have 40+ for Congrats (I believe the record is 53 for Congrats 7), but that's kind of a special case.

Not sure what the record is for non-Congrats spinoffs, but this is definitely set to be the biggest in a while.
