Really gutted for this. The performance was sublime, the costumes were brilliant, the vocals were slick, the atmosphere was amazing, almost all of the former Yugoslavia was voting for it. It had everything going for it *sigh*

Well i'm shocked with results

Well, I'm shocked about the non- ex-Yugo qualifications and qualifications of Lithuania, Belgium, Estonia and even Netherlands... but the last two I kinda had a feeling the juries would work their magic on, especially the Netherlands...

But other than that I found the results rather expected.

You're from the UK and never heard of dub-step??? :? But then again you like the Russian entry so you really must be unattached to modern music in general...
I've just Googled it and discovered from Wikipedia that it started in London in the late 1990s. I must admit, I've seldom followed the UK singles chart since the 1990s.

One hit I remember well from last year is "Gangnam Style", is this the sort of thing you would call dubstep?

You live under a rock?

No, "Gangnam Style" is NOT dubstep...

My favorite dubstep albums or albums with some dubstep influences of the past years would be Nero's "Welcome Reality" and Example's "Playing in the Shadows".

I love British contemporary music, so I'm pretty surprised by the British hate for this entry since it could fit right into a London club...

As for those of you who have said this is the 201x decade (call it the tens, teeens or whatever) and that you want modern nightclub music, no thanks! Do we really want the likes of Gangnam Style in the ESC? I don't think so.

Now that you ask this question. Yes I would really like something fresh like gangman style in esc (or anything else which is close to korean music)

Oh and since when were the costumes bad. During the rehearsals the costumes and show won over even press who didn't like the show. The spacesuits were awesome, deal with it. The only people who could have been put off by the spacesuits are the people who would not vote for it anyway.

I'm appalled and disgusted that Montenegro chose this utter garbage to represent their country in the first place. This sort of thing doesn't belong in Eurovision, full stop! It shouldn't have been in last night's semi-final, let alone the final. I think the EBU should prohibit this sort of entry by any country in future.

Any genre is eligible for ESC. Suggesting that certain genres should be banned is very close-minded of you.

I feel sad for Montenegro.. not because I liked the song which I didn't. It's just they tried really hard and put something together that was very.. I don't know, polished? Everything came together so well on stage. Could have done without the seizure inducing flashing lights but other than that it was an entertaining show. There probably never will be space in the contest for music like this. Can't say i'm upset about that but variety is the spice of life. Before I thought this and Russia were equally bad but now I can say.. Montenegro>>>>>>>>>Russia

Of course if this had been the Russian entry it would have sailed into the final.

Apparently there's a place for Russian grannies though. Definitely was a great effort and deserved to qualify.

EXCEPT THE HOST AND JURY!!!!SOOCT()

Anyone can tell you the jury probably trashed it so no televote placement could save it. They wanted Belgium, Ireland or Estonia in the final instead and Montenegro was seen as a threat to that. Why do you think Bjorkman placed this after 4 big hype hitters? To kill it that's why!! X-OI

And a jury will never vote for anything modern and current unless it comes from a Western country that's favored. Being in another language other than English being another strike against it of course. All the Yugo. countries failing tells you all you need to know about this jury and the agenda.

I don't like rap but everything about the performance was AMAZING!! It made me like the song and was really hoping against all odds it would pass but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. xgaah

Montenegro should be proud though!!

I'm so fucking pissed that Montenegro aren't in the final.
I mean! DAMN! They worked a lot at it was totally UNFAIR!
More for Nina Zizic, she gave the best for in the stage!
I think that if Belgium passed to the final and Montenegro not, I say that Montenegro maybe will withdraw the next year.

Best non-qualifier I can remember. And I hate rap-music. This was brilliant.

I hope they'll be back with a vengeance.

The "thrash metal" bits I was referring to were the non-rap vocals, i.e. some strange and weird style of "singing" (if whatever it was can seriously be called singing); to me about the closest I could identify it as was thrash metal. Is dubstep really what that bit is called? Until I read recent posts on this thread this morning I had never even heard of dubstep.

Pretty sure you've never heard of thrash metal either. ;)

Dude, with every such post of yours, you lose your last remaining bits of credibility when it comes to discussing music xD

Oh please, come on! This is not about ESC grandmas. The ordinary viewer doesn't like this stuff. Starting from most people get pissed when they hear rap, so most people are pissed with at least half of this song.

For example, I was watching the semi with some friends and they are not ESC fans. All of them agreed and said "WTF is this, it's terrible" and one of them even wanted to put the mute. I bet my house was not the only one where something like this happened ;)

Let's wait and see for the split results...

This is club music of the 10's... people seem to live under rocks then because I've been listening to similar sounding stuff for a couple of years now.

I don't think the ordinary viewer likes Lordi, as well. And yet, people I know (not Eurovision fans or followers in any way) still remember them. One thing is to not like the song and another is to not recognise its value. For example, I didn't like Lordi, but I recognise they had to win. I can't complain. Here the same thing happens. I also dislike rap. I never listen to it, actually. And I didn't like this song before seeing it in the rehearsals and yesterday. Yet, I have to agree they were really good. They managed to make such a professional performance and everything was so well thought so that the song could work properly on stage! This had this merit!
