If anything it was the performance that killed/undersold the entry. It was almost as if it didn't live up to the expectations. I wouldn't be so quick to put the blame solely on the jury.

You keep repeating that on each and every thread, but I'd be rather cautious and wait for the split jury/televote results. Honestly I don't think Montenegro was in the televote top 10, although I may be wrong.

We'll see ;)

I wish they would finally release the split votes by each country aswell, especially now when they changed the system to a full ranking...

I don't think this did well in televoting either (except in ex-yu countries). I think most casual viewers would dislike this. And I considered pressing the "mute" button while this one was being performed actually.

In my disappointed opinion, the performance lacked atmosphere. The camera angles were completely wrong, and where was the smoke?

Nice one juries. Montenegro was a disgrace to this contest with that pathetic excuse for "music" and the semi-finals are in place to make sure crap like that doesn't make it.

Try harder next year o/

Yeah, instead we got such magnificent entries like Russia, Lithuania and Belarus in the final... ;)

Oh and they tried hard, bringing the most modern entry to ESC (ever?) ... I dunno which decade the juries lives in though... the one where ESC 2002 entries and relic cheese ballads are considered "fresh"...

Kick out the juries is the only solution, then ESC will become modern and cool again... now it's turning into "The Voice of Europe singing dated cheese ballads or safe-pop in English" contest.

It's true that many (incl. me) thought the same about Austria's entry last year. To be fair also Europe has proven in the past not be prone to Rap/HipHop. Still, this actually should'f made it especially given the weak and slowish competiton it faced.

Modern does not = good. This was just poor on every level.

As for the 3 entries you mentioned :

Russia - Boring as hell, but boring is still better than actively awful.
Belarus - Insanely catchy, even my cynical brother voted for it. It's cheap, It's tacky but the tune is good.
Lithuania - Nope, no explanation for that. Lithuanian diaspora (I'll bet UK gave them high points) at work again. Montenegro was for sure better than Lithuania.

Of course modern doesn't have to equal good, I never said that, I just said it was the most modern entry and ESC need atleast SOMETHING that feels 2013 but the juries decide that the contest will be this relic cheese fest...

Russia is not just boring, it's ridiculously kitschy...

Belarus might have worked in ESC... 10 years ago

Glad you agree on Lithuania though...

I'm so sad for the result of Montenegro :( I think they deserved to reach the final and next year they won't be in the contest for sure.

I agree with everything here, except that Montenegro was better than Lithuania. I disliked Lithuania, but Montenegro was by far the worst IMO

And of course modern does not equal good, I like modern music, but Montenegrin entry was just awful. We should give it an award for being "modern"? I could let my cat pressing some buttons and compose a better "song" than this one, this will be modern?

Same here, I wish the juries to be gone finally... the voice of millions count just as much as some corrupted grandmas with bad dated taste who only vote for "voices" :(

It would still be better than the Russian entry for sure!
