Re: MALTA 2018

Well that was a hugely convincing win, bless Christabelle getting her Amber/Claudia moment and finally winning. xheat It's not my favourite song from her in the history of her NF attempts (Kingdom) was miles ahead imo, but this is still a great winner, that staging carried it for sure.

Re: MALTA 2018

Congrats to Christabelle! She's probably been my favourite recurring artist at Malta's NFs over the years, so I'm thrilled to see her finally getting the ticket to Eurovision. She deserves it, and she's wanted it so much.

I'd have preferred to see her go with Kingdom or Rush, but this is good too. Hoping to see Malta back in the final this year :)

Christabelle is a good friend of mine. I cannot express how happy I am. This song is a very emotional song to both of us. We have spoken at length about what it means... Thank you everyone who voted for Taboo

A little bit of work and I think this could push its way into my LOVES for Eurovision. A really excellent selection from Malta, but am disappointed in the juries for pushing some of the worse stuff there so much :?

Heard this a thousand times before. And 900 times out of them in the maltese NFs. There's nothing you can criticize about the song and still it does not really hit me....

Congrats Christabelle! Not the most innovative song, but much potential for an impressive performance.

Clear win. I'm not a fan of the song nor Christabelle as a performer, but at least the staging is good.

Good luck in that 2nd semifinal! I guess the juries will help a lot

There goes our dreams of stalking Richard in Lisbon, RainyWoods xcry

Taboo wasn't one of my big favourites before the show, but the performance Christabelle gave today was very good! A well deserved win for her

Re: MALTA 2018

I really like Christabelle and have supported some of her previous attempts, but I'm really struggling to get behind this one :( The melody is pleasant enough and she sings it rather well, but the lyrics in the chorus particularly just sound so sloppy to me :? I think the song needs a revamp and some of the lyrics need rewriting, and then maybe I'll be able to support Malta this year.

Another song that builds to a big chorus and drops off before pulling the trigger. Flashy stage show disguises a weak and generic song. 4 points.

Re: MALTA 2018

That was a touching moment and very heartwarming to see. "Taboo" was my second favourite after the performances, and it's lovely to see an NF regular finally rewarded. The song is decent. It's the staging that really lifts it and whether they bring a strong performance to Lisbon or not will prove key here. I think it honestly got her the win tonight, as the way it looked visually was such a standout in this selection.

I am sad for Richard & Joe. I know Richard already had a successful go at Eurovision, but I think his song this evening was charming enough to take him back. And yes, i'm devastated that I won't be able to join DanielLuis in a Richard Edward sightseeing tour:cry:

"Taboo" is the second song I find at least enjoyable that's been picked so far this year. Hmmmmm ranking is hard.......... i'll say a kind 7 points is what i'll give it for now. It could go up or down, but at least this isn't a song I can see myself actually disliking ever. I don't love it. It might have been an Amber moment in the voting tonight for Christabelle but I can't hype it like I did "Warrior". This pick did make a lot of sense though as it delivered a lot in comparison to the other performances, and none of the other songs stood out enough to take a gamble on picking them and then improving the staging. "Taboo" is decent and the package is quite strong already, but will it be strong enough for Eurovision? I honestly don't know.

I have a strange feeling with Christabelle song Taboo. The Chorus is just amazing with a great staging but the verses are IMO bad and not strong. So i can't say if i like or not.
Someone who got the same feeling than me ?

I give her a 6. It could have been 10 if the verses were great as the chorus is actually

With Malta my top of the known songs is :
1:/ France
2:/ Czech Republic
3:/ Malta
4:/ Spain
5:/ Albania

The chorus left me underwhelmed. Juries will have this in the top 10 of course, but I doubt she will qualify.
