I stopped coming to this forum in June, with a-lister and laleh arguing about how SVT hates sweden/SVT loves sweden. I comeback 4 months later and they're still at it. For god's sake.

And your constructive comment was what? Yup... nothing.

I guess it's easier to have opinions about other people's opinions rather than having any on your own?

So let's keep quite until show begins. Also, why this forum is on? We are in October, nothing about until December. Let's don't visit here until December.
Do you think you make sense?

I hope they'll make something different from 2011 and 2012. Those two were kinda the same. I want something different this year in design, scoreboard etc.

FINALLY xcheer

I guess the only 'good' rumor about the show so far, I never liked the silly slogans thingy.
I never liked the slogans either, so I'm very happy to hear about this. They always seemed so forced and unnecessary. They keep "casually" throwing it in every five minutes during the show, only because they have a slogan which they feel they need to make use of, so as to disguise its redundancy. All the shows in the past worked fine without a slogan and so did the 2009 show.

I'm also looking forward to some new designs when it comes to the bar where the phone numbers (and such) are displayed during the entries. The one in Düsseldorf took up bloody half the screen and Baku followed the hideous trend.

Is there any possibility a stage without Leds? Nonsense.

Edit
Oh God, is it true? :? No more LED stages

May be they just mean about these yellow ones by leds;

You guys are talking as if you couldn't possibly do Eurovision without LED screens. Of course you can. There were no LED screens for the first 45-50 years of the contest. I think it's great that they want to try something different. The past few years have all looked the exact same.

I'm curious to see what "the next level" means! From what I get yes, there won't be LED screens BUT they're gonna use something else!

But you can't deny that LED screens added more dimensions to the stage shows, it added even more character to the individual entries. Before the LED screens it all looked pretty "same-y" because afterall there's just so much difference you can do to a stage technically, but with LED screens individual differences are made much easier. The Norwegian edition for instance looked pretty empty (stuck in between years with LED screens).

SVT are just being cheap and stiff that's all, I just hope they don't take the 'organic' idea as far as making it look like just an empty concert stage show... now that's just boring as hell.

See and I think the LED stages have looked empty and boring. There has been nothing to frame them in. Just a vast empty stage with a humongous screen in the background. As for what's showing on the screens, I think it's mostly been distracting, especially the ones with flashing images. The ones that have worked the best and looked the best were the simple ones.

There is so much you can do with a background besides having one giant screen there. Take a year like 1995 for example. The entries had incredibly individualized stage looks, created with lighting, colors and other effects and it worked wonderfully. Just compare Norway and Turkey for example:
Eurovision 1995 - Norway
Eurovision 1995 - Turkey

That looked good back then, now it just looks like use of different color themes (lights) and that's it.

Well, no one was forced to actually use LED-screens, some acts still just used different light effects to this day... however now all will be forced to present an empty show. It might work for some entries, but others will not benefit from it and I like the freedom of choice.

I really don't think less is more, and I don't see how using different lights on an identical background is individual? That was the technical solution back then but now? Well, again I have to agree to disagree with you on things.

No I think the way it's been the past few years, you have been forced to present an empty show. Since the stages have only had the LED screen(s) and nothing else, if you don't want all the fancy graphics you are left with nothing. Whereas back in the day, at least there was a backdrop, some stuff on stage, some sort of frame and structure to it all.

Why do you think no LED screen will mean they will go for a less is more type of stage look? Do you think every entry will be forced to go Euphoria or something? I am sure there will be plenty of individual options for each entry.

LED screens are a big advantage especially for bands or songs that you can't use a dancer.
The song is a shooter but you can't give that feeling without the LEDs.I'm a big fan of them because of this and i don't wanna see a big organization like this without LED screens,it's 2012! Sweden must stop loving cheap stuff -.-'

I think there needs to be a balance. The 2012 was towards a better direction but it was still a vast space with little structuring. LEDS can work but I'd like some design with the stage as well such as

I prefer a combo of the two, but it seems SVT are just going for the stage (and if Melodifestivalen stages are any indication we should be REALLY scared because they've been mostly utterly mediocre and generic).

This I have to agree with. MF stages are generally awful. I don't get the 2012 one, and the 2007 one is just awful. I'm really hoping for something that combines both shape and functionality, like in 2003. For me, that was the best stage, and yet it had very minimal LED usage so if SVT can pull it off like LTV did, it could work amazingly well.

Another thing I hope that occurs is the general feel to the show. Looking at the 2000 contest and then the newest design of MF, both the openings seem to convey this message that the Eurovision night and MF night are events to which all other things should play second fiddle to, and that's what I'd love to see. I mean 2011 seemed very rushed and as if nothing major was happening at all, and 2012 just had a very relaxed feel to it. What I get from 2000 and the MF design is that they're both very momentous things that are occurring, and this is particularly highlighted in the voting for MF, there's a lot of tension attached to that, and that's always very good.
