I'm more amazed at the people. How do they like to pour **** (pardon the expression) Don't like it all! What Baku is better than Malmö? However, that was "on the edge of the earth"? :?

How beautiful!

The little scene I like even more. On the big stage performers like an ant on the square

Not unexpected, but a total disgrace. Congratulations Sweden on blowing your big chance in front of the world. Small, crappy arena with a tiny stage. I knew they would screw this up. How is Friends Arena too big? They would easily sell 60,000 tickets and I doubt the acoustics would suffer either.

Friends Arena is the new home ground to AIK football club. Their old home ground Råsunda is set to be demolished after AIK move to the new arena next spring. If ESC where to take place in Stockholm, AIK would be without a home ground for at least 6 weeks. Postponing the demolishing of Råsunda would cost a lot of money. I guess this is another reason why Malmö Arena won over FA.

I'm so devastated right now. I need to find a job when I get back to Sweden but I had to do this anyway to cover my student's life expenses. Now I have to find money for a place to stay as well! I might not make it...

I love stop-motion clips, and just watched Malmo one. Well city is not ugly, but I can't say it's beautiful, nice or smth. Just city full of modernism and freshness.

But arena... It is fluffin small!! I mean, after Eurovision 2010 with 70 k seats I thought only Sweden can make better show, well I was wrong. sad.

Well Sweden, if you want to correct your mistakes, you know what to do - put a roof on Malmo stadium and make best show ever... or be epic failers. :D

Say half of the tickets will be available to the public, ie 7000 tickets. Add the current situation with extensive ticket "black market" in Sweden and things can turn very bad for those who want to attend the contest. Assume a base price of €100 per ticket, what would the "real" street price be? €1000?

Even though I prefer to see ESCs in the respective capitals, it's nice to show Europe that a country isn't only it's capital (something that Azerbaijan should learn ;)). :)

When Russia host Eurovision again, i hope that the ESC will be held in St. Petersburg, and if in Ukraine, at the Donbass Arena in Donesk  xcheerxcheer

And what exactly is wrong with a small stage?

Nothing wrong with a smaller stage if done right. My only concern with this is that the festive atmosphere may suffer slightly with a smaller arena. Bigger arena = more people cheering/more foreigners = better atmosphere. Maybe the location won't make this suffer too much but Sweden had all the ingredients to make the best ESC for a long, long time which possibly couldn't be bettered

F**k this, I will try to get tickets anyway. Tickets for the final is probably impossible, it's just to accept that. The semis is another story and could be fun. Anyone know if it's possible to get tickets to the dress-rehearsals?

YESYESYES!
Malmö is a great choice and it just couldn't be easier for us living in or around Copenhagen to go to ESC, at least I have no excuse for not going next year. Will be almost like having ESC on home ground and I simply can't wait!

You guys should really stop worrying over Malmö. Although it may not be quite as metropolitan as Stockholm it does have its own charm and lots of shopping opportunities. Only concern as I see it might be the nightlife, and this is where I can see Copenhagen benefitting on the presence of ESC-fans. Most Swedish bars and clubs close rather early whereas the nightlife in Denmark doesn't end till the next morning so I could see this being slightly more appealing to the fans who'd like to go partying.
