As a fan of abstract art personally I really like it, probably the best theme since 2009 or 2007 in terms of the logo design at least. Remains to see how it will be used in video though, as it is a tad random

Well, as long as they don't take this "diversity" thing too far... I'm afraid though that SVT want to use this as an opportunity to expose certain political group's internal agenda rather that a celebration of European diversity... but I really hope they'll just stick to the latter, which I think ESC really should be all about... so I'm ok with the whole "celebrating the diversity of Europe" theme as long as it won't become a cliché PC fest...

But I really cross my fingers that they won't forget Sweden in all of this, so far it seems they don't even want to promote anything Swedish...

Yeah, there seems to be a bit more imagination put into this than a few bubbles or lightbeams or flames/paisley patterns flying around the place. And my thoughts exactly, all we've been given so far is just a few static pictures. I can imagine it'd look amazing in video though. I wish they gave a bit more examples of its application though. It's definitely not what I was expecting at all, in a good way!

There is a lot you can do with a butterfly but you're also running into the "danger" of making it look too cheezy but I'm really intruiged and can't wait to see the end product.

I think it'll actually look quite impressive and powerful, kind of a more-butterfly~ish 2000 design. The smoke~thing behind it look to be promising, and then when you remember the Butterfly Effect when you think of the logo, it's clear that it's going to be more than just a sweet butterfly floating across the screen. I'm really looking forward to what they'll do with it when they animate it!

I do like the logo. The concept behind it is great, and it can be really fantastic when animated.
The slogan is also pretty, great, and I think A-Lister doesn't have to worry. SVT will take this as a celebration of European culture, nothing more :D
I bet the whole graphic design in general will be much better than in previous years.

Oh, if you don't fear SVT using this for other purposes then you know nothing of SVT  ... however I do hope they limit themselves to celebration of European diversity, and not take it further (as they probably want and will).

As for the graphic, I do like the logo (especially against that darker background, not too fond of the all-white background for it).

I'm ok with the butterfly, but not ok with the colours on the butterfly (seems like too much).

"Release your butterfly" perhaps?

We are not one, what a silly slogan. I like the butterfly though, but struggle to see what it has to do with either Eurovision, Sweden or "We Are One"???

Yep I hope they use the black and red background, with those "dot" effects coming from the butterfly (as on the photo you posted in page 2).
I can really see how cool it can look in animation. I can already see that butterfly flying up my tv screen with a great sound effect, as well as the dot effect I said before! It's gonna be great, I think.

I quite like the slogan...what's wrong with it exactly? It's a nice show of solidarity. A bit cheesy, but they kind of all are.

But I really cross my fingers that they won't forget Sweden in all of this, so far it seems they don't even want to promote anything Swedish...

After Azerbaijan's shameless self promotion, I wouldn't mind Sweden going easy on the "This is why our country is so great" stuff. Sweden has nothing to prove.

So instead we should promote ourselves like "we hate everything Swedish"?

I don't think self-promotion is bad if it's done in a tasteful way. As a host you're inviting viewers to your country, and I don't see anything wrong in presenting who you are to them... it's more odd to present yourself as a self-hating item.

A-lister believes SVT have a secret agenda to impose sharia laws in Sweden and suppress any attempt to express "Swedish culture". The commercial channel TV4 is considered even worse with their persistent antiracism campaigns. Which by the way are the only channels that show something different than replays of old American B TV series. Recently Utbildningsradion (Swedish public service education radio/TV) sent a BBC produced series of forensic methods in archaeology showing culture mixing, migration and DNA combinations in Britain. I guess BBC is considered as bad or even worse than SVT, right?

How is DR, NRK and YLE considered in this respect? Or ARD and France Télévisions? Are they part of the same plot?

(which brings this subject to yet another thread - hurra!)
