I’m not sure what it is about the song, but there’s something I really like about it. For now, it’s probably a solid 10 for me.xmusic

This is the 3rd national final when the jury selected the winner and the jury was failed. It’s not me saying this is a bad song because it’s not. I love it.

I just think the people need to decide their song not a 5 person jury

Well the jury saved half the Europe from going deaf after what these guys served vocally :ROFLMAO:

I really like this entry- it's very catchy. However, the performance deserves a lot of improvement. In its current form, the staging feels too amateurish; the camera work makes her look too small on stage, plus there was the awkwardly executed costume change. The biggest issue for me is that she had to take a breath during her belting moment. Overall, it just doesn't feel as polished as one would expect. Still, I'm very hopeful since they did a fine job last year.

Not a fan of it, kinda a meh pop banger, last year's entry though in a similar vein gave me much better first impressions. Kinda JESC-y besides,, cute and too harmless.

I could see making the song to the Final, but there it will be probably not reach more than around 20th place or even downwards.

I fully expect NQ here personally. Luxembourg won't get extra attention in the SF just because of their return after a long hiatus and the song and the performer are less strong, and there's no diaspora essentially to vote for them. I'd give them more of a chance if there was a jury in the SF but it's not ... 2nd year in a row.

Good voice.
But this song definitely needs a revamp.
It can still be charming, without being jesc. Also, change this terrible stage performance and the awful outfit.
I will give a generous 5.

Yeah, I think just changing the arrangements a little bit would be an improvement, would seem more mature. But then the theme of the song would still stay but OK.

I could see it also as a NQ, but I think it still depends on in what semi the song will land and what the other countries/competitors are. I didn't like Tali's song last year, but this year it is even worse ...

I remember vaguely similar reasonings back with Zoe‘s „Loin d‘ici“, so I hope Laura can also qualify at least. But there are more factors to be considered. If „Fille à papa“ was selected and in the same semi, this would considerably narrow the chances of a qualification cuz both songs appeal to similar group of voters. It‘s also important if France (and to a certain extent Switzerland) is voting in the semi, where Luxembourg is in. It‘s not diaspora, but the “french“-connection that could add the decisive points.

The comparison with "Loin d'ici" doesn't really work for me. Yes, "Loin d'ici" was somewhat childish too, but IMO in a much more calm and charming manner. Childish can be downright good when it manages to hit the right qualities about it (the innocence and lightness). Zoës performance was "aww, such a cute little disney princess" to me, and I am not surprised that had an audience.

In comparison, "La poupeé monte le son" is weirdly aggressive in how juvenile it is. It is a Mix of these annoying "lalalalas" That are half the chorus and the staging (which IMO does not tell the story of the song well). And any "aww, cute disney princess!" vibes will die down anyway during the ~sexy dress reveal~ (that should not be here anyway).

Either way, I would suspect too that it's Qualifying chances largely hinge on enough french loving voting mates in the semi.

If you read my post closely, I did not compare the songs itself, but the fan reaction to both of them. (or to be prescise - the arguments why they would not qualify)

I'm aware, but you weren't the only one who brought up the song (alongside Denmark 2019) as a comparison in different capacities. I was not directly replying to you with my Post, but more in general.

(Though given how different the songs & stagings still are for me, I would not really compare Qualifying chances either or judge this Songs chances based of "Loin d'ici". In contrast to most, I know).

Well my review is mixed.

I didn’t like any of the studio versions of the NF. But I’m low-key enjoying the live performance of La Poupée Monte Le Son. It’s really feels like 80s/90s :lu: Eurovision! Is it an advanced song with depth though? Absolutely not. I have to agree that a more modern, relevant approach towards Eurovision by :lu: would be nice. It feels like they are doing 80s/90s songs in 2005, as if their comeback had taken place in that time.. very 200s Eurovision-ish… Schlager, dancy vibes…

For the song there’s also a good comparison that I read on YouTube: „it’s like as if Rockefeller Street and Loin d‘Ici had a baby“ - Hahahaha

:5: points from me

Another mid one. And I'm already tired of giving :5:'s, :6:'s and :7:'s (at best) this year to songs that aren't bad but aren't good either.

I love a good homage; regrettably, this isn’t one. But it’s okay enough compared to other entries, I fear.

I like it. It's catchy and efficient. It won't win but it's catchy, well constructed, well composed. She does her best to give life to the song. It has a message without being literally stupid. It's a very good song. Hopefully it qualifies. Just, I hope RTL will find her a stylist because that 80s wannabe hairstyle is scary. 🤣
