Erica Jennings made the right decision by quitting the Eurovision and giving her song to Monika Marija. I'm still not crazy about the song, but Monika Marija just has the superior execution. Her lower register is beautiful.

so about the qualifiers.

Ieva - predictable Let's see for how long her being 12d by the jury lasts though. Her significance faded out in the semifinal last year when she got only 3 as opposed to Fusedmarc's 12 (to which jury gave 10 for the first 2 of their shows). Still not convinced people won't get bored by her song in Lisbon though.
Monika Marija - slay you vocalist from Žemaitija I hope you can insert a verse in Samogitian so that we can be treated to at least that after 19 years since our first Samogitian entry
Saulės Kliošas - still not convinced they could stand out in Eurovision apart from the language... but good for them
The Roop - Y A S S S S S S S S S S! I stand with [MENTION=14007]lavieenrose[/MENTION] by stanning this entry! The chorus is stuck in my head and was for the whole Saturday and still is xD I would only kind of fix the lyricism because the chorus is kinda off (only for the rhyming purposes though I see) and strenghten the song out but other than that it's so fine Slay Milanno for beating your depression, we need more people like you in the world.

Marija - yass simcard kwen slay me darling

She should make her vocals sound stellar on the semifinal in order to give the gift back to her massive televoters squad because simcards won't gift you with magical voice instantly. As well as if she's getting 0 next week and she's between qualification with only 10/12 points from televoters, the jury votes will cancel her out as they are the ones that break ties afterall
Gabrielius Vagelis - I liked that he improved from last year imo. Stylewise - yeah well no but songwise - I like it!

Poor Greta, I lol'd how Audrius got cancelled out of qualification Natalja Chareckaja style, predictable for Ruta Loop and buh-bye Živilė and Elizabeth/Elžbieta

she's not the only one btw. Germantė pulled through with only 10 from televoting in heat 1. and then suddenly televoters turned against her in Heat 5 with giving her 0 xD

I paradoxically like it more because of his clear discomfort with the language. It really feels like him honestly expressing what he feels in the slightly broken way he knows how.

While I have your attention, are there things we're missing in trying to guess how this NF will end by not being in Lithuania? Are there famous artists in it? Controversies? Artists who're well-liked in a particular geographical area? Perhaps most paramount, what type of person actually watches the Lithuanian NF - does the audience skew young/old?

Hmmm how do I break it down to ya...

There's a semi happening this week (my time it's a few mins away to half past 4 of a new day), and for sure there are the 3 winners that qualified from 2nd round of heats to the final + Jurgis + Monika Marija. Marija cannot have the 6th spot for that long tho.

However, Lukas Šniolis (the guy who keeps us updating on televotes and announces running order of each show and announces full results of each heats n such) said during the end of heat 6 that we will be having an announcement coming on Labas Rytas Lietuva (LRT's morning show) and this could make or break everything. Last year we had such announcement, we had an online voting to bring back a song that was eliminated later on the shows straight to the final. This year... what's it gonna be? A second chance show held next Saturday? Someone getting disqualified for overabusing simcards? Old news about the venue of the NF? Past participant ending up in the jury? Voting errors? Erica Jennings eventually returning to sing her own NF entry? So many possibilities You better be doing something right for the NF this time, Mr. Giržadas.

If however a randomer qualifies to the final (or in a similar level as Fusedmarc) and wins, expect petitions in a couple of days, signed by a lot of celebrities that is just one guy pretending to be many

Yes there are famous faces and controversies, such as Erica Jennings withdrawing due to juries' pettiness in critiquing others, but she happily gave het song up for grabs and that's how we got Monika Marija. Mia tried her hand at calling out the selection for the way it works, flopped to qualify and vowed to never return to the selection again. There were technical difficulties in the making of NF performances as well so some performances had to be restarted. International fandom occured to past NF faces like Paula and Greta mainly. And some girl named Milda had fans in Chile too

As for demographic, I'm not sure yet. xD

EDIT: Nevermind, just noticed they're bringing back 2 acts instead of 1. By the way, this is a pretty boss move by the LRT, keeping in 2 big fanbases so that they could vote for their favorites and bring in even more money.

Just gave my wildcard vote to Vidas, though to be honest, queen Joyce should be there. I wish it had first round eliminations too there to vote for. She probably had my favourite song of this entire Eurovision season........ though GeraiGerai are scratching for that title now too. Go Lithuania This NF is so hot

I should butter my mom up to allow me to watch the final live from the arena as we guys live kinda near it (and it's also near a mall, I could obligatory have a stop at it to continue my MALLbania campaign, hehe) and I saw Muse live in there, so it was some awesome experience. At least she'd allow me to go to something Eurovisionish as a viewer
