When I first saw it backstage, I was just thinking "oh boy…this is…a thing?," but after seeing it on stage, I do really like the silhouette it creates.

You're right, I also enjoy the silhouette a lot. It's when the whole dress comes into view that i don't like it.

I'm not sure if I like Aminata's dress tbh. The way I see it, they should have gone for something simpler and more modern but still dramatic looking. Instead they chose this over complicated Barbie ball gown... I think it detracts from the performance.

I know exactly what you mean.

I was expecting her image to be very much similar to what we saw at Supernova, and if she was going for a dress, it would be simple like the one she wore for the Supernova final. I also prefer her hair up in that high ponytail. I'm not sure the "glamour diva" look fits this song.

To be honest, the staging and her look is completely different to what I was expecting so I have to reserve full judgement for now until I see another rehearsal.
However, those backing singers need to be put out of their misery. They are far too loud and making the chorus sound messy and screechy, and this is a real cause for concern. I really wish she could use playback vocals for the backing singers.

I gather you are referring to the odd minute snippet regarding the chorus, aren't you? Because although it's a fact they sound really bad there, I'm assuming it's a problem with the recording of the video, as no one watching the actual performance (live or on tv feed) has mentioned it and everybody said the performance was great vocally wise. Forget the snippet ;)

Yes that is exactly what I am referring to, but I'm glad it seemed to be more a problem with the recording of the video.
I guess I'll find out myself for definite next Wednesday night if my ears are blown off when I'm watching it in the arena....actually I'm so nervous and and excited for that jury semi-final:D

I still dont like Love Injected, but I have to give Latvia this; the back-drop and the whole presentation seems impressing!

I am just watching the "meet and greet" video and must say I am very impressed about their "unplugged" version that they presented there.

Ok hearing the wiwibloggs review, it seems like the camera angles are amazing and the most dynamic so far, as well as great use of the LED floor...now this is more encouraging:)

I like the upper half of the dress, but I too don't think the poofy part fits. Maybe I'll like it more when I get a better view of it on stage.

And I know it's not Aminata's fault, but I'm so sick of the amount of black and white many acts are using on the LED screen so far :? If it were just a few, it would be fine, but at this point they're not standing out and it makes the color scheme look too toned down.

I think we should step off the backing singers and trust them. ESC obviously has better production values than Supernova in Latvia and I think they'll find a balance that works before the semifinal.

It does look quite good from the top down shots with the patterns on the LED floor

Finally the bookies noticed what a great piece of music Latvia has on offer this year! I really don't understand why we had to wait til the rehearsals for her odds to shorten, she has proven herself has a great performer many times before! Here's hoping Latvia will keep on growing more and more in the odds and become this year's ultimate dark horse!
