I also think that her vocal is a really shocking one. I was amazed with it when I first saw her in Supernova, and I'd heard the song before that; think about what she could do for someone who doesn't know what's coming next.

Just heard "Skatuve" for the first time. As with Sanna Nielsen and "I'm In Love," it screamed "next time's my year."

I'd be wonderfully shocked if she even just qualified somehow....nevermind thoughts of winning.

In fact, I can almost see how the voting will go for her in the semi-final;
We know the song is amazing but possibly a little too leftfield for most eurovision tastes, so I think such a risky entry will score highly with some juries that appreciate something a little different so she'll get the odd "high"'mark.
However, she will lose out big time on getting the consistent lower votes and this will more than likely cost her a place in the grand final. I can see the likes of Poland, Cyprus and Switzerland hoovering up points in the 1-5 range at the expense of Latvia, as they are more "agreeable" and "safe" choices.

Anyway, I will hold my Latvian flag high in Vienna regardless:D

Honestly i don't think this song is so ''leftfield'' and alternative. It's just unique and we have seen hard rock winning, so why not Aminata? :) Also as i know, didn't you guys have won a contest already? :D Pretty sure you can do it again.

I hope ye guys are right!
I am just trying to prepare myself for huge disappointment as I have a ticket for the grand final and obviously Aminata is the act I most want to see on Saturday, 23rd of May.

There's no way in hell that this stays in the semi. :D

Yeah, I hope so, because if the juries place this lower than 5:th-6:th place they shouldn't be considered as professionals.

The more I listen to "Love Injected", I realize just how wide the gap is between this and the other songs on offer this year. I think it's in a completely different league to be honest. It's got something that seems forever missing in Eurovision world and that's relevance... Not that relevance is personally something I look for with music, but it's the reason why I think this song is extremely underrated. I strongly believe Latvia is going to (at the very least) storm the top 5 and can win if it looks as slick, and sounds anywhere near as damn majestic as it does every other time i've heard it. "Love Injected" is a song that stands on it's own. It's fresh, it's off-kilter in regards to what's expected from the contest, but it's still incredibly accessible. The songs raw emotion genuinely has the power to grab a hold of people. As others have said before, it's going to shock on first listen.

The only thing that's bugging me at the moment is the Eurovision edit of the song. I was thinking about the rules of the contest the other day. If there is one rule I could change, it would be the song length rule. I'd take the songs up to 3:30. "Love Injected" ends far too abruptly now. We needed another round of the Woooooaaa oooo aahhhhhhaa's. That's the most poignant point of the song for me. That was the winning moment and now it's been cut in half and not allowed to linger on.

Anyway, I think we might have found a really incredible artist here in Aminata. I love Eurovision and getting behind the artists but seldom do they manage to keep my interest outside of the contest. I'm genuinely really interested to hear this album Aminata is putting out. If the songs are anywhere near the quality of her Eurovision entry then we're in for a treat.

Ideally I don't mind that but if everyone follows that, think of a 27-song final - they themselves take over 90 minutes - that would take eternity!
I feel the same way about the Italian song - the Eurovision edit cuts down part of its drama in the build-up.

That's true but it would only add another 13 minutes onto the show which could be sliced off in other unnecessary areas if need be. The music is the most important thing and I think that an extra 30 seconds could truly make the world of difference. It would allow songs to build better and finish stronger.

Well, where would that end? If someone wants to send a song of 4 minutes because that would be perfect to build up the song...
If all countries do that, the show would last one hour longer...
There is a limit of 3 minutes and I think that's good

I agree 30 seconds definitely would make a world of difference to the songs.

Unfortunately that doesn't mean they would slice off the unnecessary excess fat on the show. They will simply let the show run longer and after complaints its runs too long they'll just cut the songs back to 3 minutes instead of cutting the other stuff like they probably should. That's unfortunately how things usually play out instead of how they really should. Its like how they always try to change the Oscars but it always never works

I think it could stop at 3:30 and it would be a big help. At the moment we've got people chopping verses in half, as well as abrupt endings. Whilst as a fan I eventually get used to stuff like this and how Eurovision songs are crafted, I find myself always spotting when something has been rushed to fit the time constraints. Armenia this year is a very good example where they've tried to cram as much as they could into the 3 minutes and the different sections all feel rushed, with no air to breathe. I think more freedom is a good thing. Of course a song can be done in three minutes but it can often be very tight. Unless you're a punk band, the average song length seems to be over the 3 minute for most artists. I love songs that are short and sweet but for artistic reasons, I think artists should be a given a little more time to play with.

I understand what you're saying but I'm going to repeat myself.
If 27 countries have a song 3:30, the show would last 30 minutes longer (at least!) so the show will end around 1 am CET....

Actually it should differ less than 15 minutes... 27 * 30 secs = 13m30s

God, please no! I can't already stand most of the songs of 3 mins in ESC; 3.30 would be hell for me

Btw, the person on your avatar is like a twin of someone I deeply deeply hate xjason

The karaoke version is nice, and those whispers xmusic. But sadly the drum beat (the snare CMIIW) on the chorus is missing :(

Her styling is so fierce and on point. Bet she has a wonderful outfit planned for the Vienna performance.
