Yes, and dark staging, loose hair and interpretive dance moves are a no go

I think Aminata's hand movements are different enough from Loreen's not to warrant a comparison:p
In any case, it is the hypnotic hand movements which really enhance the performance so I hope Aminata doesn't ditch them.

THE GOOD

-For a Eurovision entry, this is a pretty unique sound. I always welcome these songs that push the boundaries. If I had to place the song on what it sounds like, the closest thing I would come up with is "Runaway" by Janet Jackson, but that still does not take away this song's uniqueness.
-Another plus is that she helped write and compose the song.

THE BAD

-Just as it could help it, the uniqueness of the song might also hurt it, but certainly not with me.

THE VERDICT

This is not your typical Eurovision entry, and I love it for that fact. It remains to be seen whether or not it will qualify for the Final, although I do see it qualifying. 10 points

I honestly don't think there's any possible scenario where Latvia would fail to qualify this year. Only if Aminata somehow really screws up on the night, but I think that is very unlikely.

What a thin voice! Hope she can do better than that, song is interesting otherwise, like the sparse accompaniement, a bit similar to "I Feed You My Love" and i hope they don't change it to make it "more mainstream"....

I gave it 12, when you listen to it wearing a good quality headset it just blows you away.
Looks like this year i like all three songs of our Baltic brothers (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania). Great job, guys!
And welcome back to the finals, i guess ;)
I'm only worried that Aminata is a bit stiff and is not charismatic enough but hope they'll come up with an amazing staging for this one.

8 points for the moment. My only issue is the stupid dubstep bit in the middle. Lets not make it TOO modern, eh?

Yes, such an expected words from somebody who has that disgusting ESC cliche called Ani Lorak as avatar.. YUCK..

It's Jessica Mauboy

And hey, Shady Lady was a pretty good song. ;)

If Latvia,Estonia,Lithuania make it all to the Grand Final,
it will be the FIRST time this happens, since Semifinals exist (2004).
Last time all baltics were in a Eurovision Grand Final, was back in 2002.

It's certainly grown on me. It can still be a bit annoying in spots, and I would've preferred MNTHA (SORRY!) but it's pretty good. 7 points.

I don't like it. I find it weird and awkward and can't detect any melody, either. 4 points for the singer.

I think it's a risky song. I find it interesting but there are some parts that ruin everything, such as the hand gestures. Her voice also should be also tamed in some parts.
Comparing it to Estonia, I'd say Estonia has a bigger chance, but they play safe with it, I don't think their performance can get better. On the other hand, Latvia has a lot of potential.

The song is great, and she is amazing. She sings with such emotion, she is one of those singers who makes you keep listening. I'm surprised this is not a front-runner in the odds.

To be honest, not sure if whole baltikum will be in the final this year. I can imagine Lithuania missing it, but it has qualified with weaker songs before

This is an excellent choice by Latvia (for a change) although Mntha would have been a good choice too. She is excellent live and doesn't need backing singers who brought down the performance last night.
