The only specific reason that Raphael came second in 2011 was that the performance was absolutely mesmerizing.
I voted like 5 times for this song.

I'm glad that many people think that, I have to say that I have respect for him and his song but I think that it was a sort of "welcome back" voting too (and for this reason I think that Australia will win this year)

Nah I dont think there was "welcome back" voting going on.
The song is classy, simple but elegant, Italian music at its finest and the juries were always going to love this.
In all fairness this should have won the entire contest, I am listening to this now as I write and I still get goosebumps.
Absolutely amazing.

I think the European audience likes that type of thing from Italy and that's mainly why Raphael did well.

Not the same genre song but Marco pretty much got the exact same televote. He was 10th and Raphael was 11th. Both songs probably feel stereotypical Italian to televoters and that's what attracted them xshrug

I am sure EBU will punish Italy for not broadcasting the 1st Semifinal live.
How?
In the opposite way they "welcomed" them in 2011. ;)

And...? What's the problem?

Like Italy, Portugal won't broadcast the 1st semifinal. Actually we never broadcast it live.

A country that is interested to WIN the contest, should not do such things.

The rule is one and only: you have to broadcast the semifinal where you have to vote.

It's the second one for us. So...

P.S. Although I think it's not a good behaviour, for us first of all, viewers who want to enjoy the entire contest on tv.

It´s not against the rules, the thing that some people maybe are getting a little irritated on is that nearly all countries are broadcasting all three shows this year

Italy is my big big favorite this year. Ten times better then Sweden.. If Sweden don't had that fucking great show, I would've bet money on this song!

I guess :it: takes over 1st place in the odds tomorrow if their performance is really good (don´t trash this like you did with Nina in 2012). But still my favorite for the win

I'm hoping they got a nice color backdrop xpray I really liked the blue they had at Sanremo xheart

Also in terms of simplicity more like Russia and less like Slovenia/Norway, although I fear the latter :|

Agree, I hope they can create something unique that neither :ru: or  has in their performances

Does it actually mean anything? #127 in :lu:, how many people bought it? Two?
Of course it could mean a trend, but I wouldn't overestimate it. Maybe it's just some fans who bought it.

One person told me that :by: should be taken with a scoop salt, if two buys the same song there, the song jumps very high in their list. But I should take :gr:, :cy:, :am:, :se: and  seriously
