The 'Mama someone broke my heart' reminded me of... 'Bohemian Rhapsody'... oooh, the blasphemy

One of the better songs, we need a couple of songs like this. 7 points!

A solid 10 points from me, not sure it has what it takes to make it a 12 - hope it qualifies though, if not the final might be rather bland.

So some songs here, big hits, that can show you a little bit of our middleastern music industry which again, is at least 60% of our music!

This is half Justin Timberlake and half turbo-folk indeed. It sounds so messy and a bit all over the place. Also, it is a bit funny that a 16-yo kid sings something like this.

It's not really terrible, but it's not great either.

3 points.

The more I listen to it, the more I like it. It's one of the few entries this year that really want to make you party! Great Job Israel! xdancex12sxparty

I really do not like the 1st 50 seconds, after that it gets good.

Ironically Freddie Mercury wrote both Bohemian Rhapsody AND that song called "The Golden Boy" from the Barcelona-album in 1987, except this "Golden Boy" is complete and utter garbage, not even worthy of mention. And the video is another "Ooh, look at me, I'm doing the Timberlake-thing, rehashing the same old MJ-moves!". Lame.

Speaking of rehashes...funny enough, ESC-participants doesn't even TRY being discrete when rehashing old song titles.

great song great voice if there wasent any politics involved this one should be in the top 5 but because of where its from i doubt it will get past the semis, and that would be travesty

I hope you are not right and this makes it to the final and even to a place among the top 5.
If russia makes it to the final despite the political situation, then Israel should also be judged on the basis of the song and the presentation only.

I must admit, the first time I heard it I wasn't so sure, but after a few listens I quite like it! Hope it qualifies, we need something a little more up-tempo with all these ballads!

I like this! At least it's different from the rest, it really stands out. Hope it qualifies and does well on the final. C'mon Europe, vote right.

'Golden Boy' has that Middle Eastern vibe that I used to love about the Turkish entries. I may not like the current Israeli government, but I can separate the Eurovision entries from Israel from the politics that inevitably accompanies the event. I loved Eden in 1999, Mei Finegold last year and Noa and Mira Awad in 2009. Lucky I get a vote in the second semi final, because this song is getting my vote. Well done Israel and their 'Golden Boy'!

My opinion of this has not changed: a much needed upbeat track this year, with totally the right balance between traditional ethno sounds and modern pop. I love it, it stays with 12 points from me :D It will be literally criminal if Israel doesnt qualify this year!

Re: ISRAEL 2015 - Nadav Gadj - Golden Boy

I've been going back and forth on this one and this is how I feel about this one: It's my guilty pleasure of 2015. It's not a very "sophisticated" composition. And by that I mean, it has this touch of desperation. Like, we send whatever it takes to qualify. And they may just do that but it's difficult to predict this one at this point. The lyrics are just terrible but it's catchy and fun. The thing I dislike the most is the chorus but Nadav is a charismatic singer, especially for his young age so I think this is Israel's best shot at Qualification in a long time. The fact that we have more ballads than usual in the running can only work in their favor.
