I actually quite like it. Sunday would have been better but this was the only second choice.

Yet another female voice with a song of self-empowerment. Conchita's coattails are long y'all. But this song is even blander than the Maltese and the Swiss.

Oh no... I better wait till it grows on me before I vote because I have liked all Icelandic songs since 2003 (some of them have grown on me later).

It's nice. But nice doesn't get you very far... what is with the lack of dynamic songs this year

I know what they're doing. They're all paving the way for us champions, the Portuguese, to make it. We're gonna get it this year, all the other countries know it, so why bother?
Australia will be there to witness it xsnooty

then don't!
Comparing Conchita to this immature girl hopping round the stage is inconsiderate.

And arguing this song is not about self-empowerment is rather immature on its own.

Is Maria really 22?! I honestly thought she was 16 and even younger-looking, maybe I was getting her mixed up with Elin :?

Several things annoy me immensely about this... her bare feet, her arm, her dress, the song's repetitiveness. But after all I can't deny that it's catchy. The chorus was even more catchy in Icelandic. 5 points.

I'm not arguing the song is not about self-empowerment. But that is not the point. You'd find a dozen songs that have lines in it, that speak about self empowerment if you go through the last years. So if you really think, this song was written in response or as a resonance from Conchita, you're simply wrong. It's one of the most wide-spread subjects after love in the ESC. And apart from that - as I said: comparing apples with pears.

By the way - calling me immature is quite aggressive - stop that or I'll stop answering you. I don't argue with people who have to use insults in discussions.

Another shitty song from Iceland. Im tempted to give my first 0 pointer of the season. Oh god, I have no idea how this one is going to qualify. Iceland better prays that everyone else is sending worse songs.

Like it or not Matt, this qualifying. It won't set the leaderboard on fire, but it's a solid, safe bet to get through to Saturday.

Exactly THAT is my point and you missed it. So all I can say to you now is bye and hope there won't be much more mid-tempo female solo ballads about being strong.

It's hard to say without knowing the competition, don't you think? It reminds me of a Eurovision fan wank like Ireland or Israel last year but that just won't appeal to the average viewers. The juries will probably the only thing that could save it. But then again, it's to early to call it.

You said - read your own post - that this was a song that came up because of Conchitas win. Well, THAT's the point, where I was contradicting you. Something you missed apparently.
