Re: HUNGARY 2013

My favorite, in English of course.

And why in English? Something wrong with Hungarian? (afterall it's in Hungarian).

I wonder what Hungarian members think with the blatant dissing of their language... English isn't the only language with a worth in this world.

Re: HUNGARY 2013

Last Saturday´s Semi was only average imo... but I liked "A szeretet él" and "Puzzle".

Re: HUNGARY 2013

Just like last week a good semi-final in Hungary.

This are my favorites for tonight:

- Brasch Bence - Túl egyszerű
- Cserpes Laura - Élj pont úgy
- Hoffmann Mónika - Hullócsillag
- Polyák Lilla - Valami más
- Puskás Peti - Amíg a tűz ég
- Radics Gigi - Úgy fáj

Good luck Hungary!

^^On the other hand, this is my least fave heat; with some of my least faves of the 30 being featured :D (United, Flash Travel)
But there also two I love (Gigi and Lilla)

btw a double cd with the nf songs was released; I think it looks really good. :)

The CD looks nice, would you say "A Dal" is a success in Hungary as far as popularity and audience of the show goes? I'm curious because Hungary belongs to the "unlucky Central-European bloc" in ESC and have been withdrawing back and forth, so I'm curious about the current status of the selection and ESC there... is there a revival of some sort?

I just really hope whatever entry you choose it'll stay in Hungarian...

One more thing, why do you write the surnames in front of the first name in Hungarian?

I think I wrote about it a few pages earlier. (Yes, here; I think you didnt see it, though I wrote it to you :D) Philip Rákay (he's in the jury) is the programme director of MTV since 2011, and since then ESC is treated by MTV as every fan would wish. :)
They started a new official site, an official blog and the NF is all over the media, on M1, DunaTv and on MR2 radio and newspapers; they even made a mobile app devoted to the NF and put billboards in some of the Hungarian cities.
The viewing rates for the first shows were very good; 20% of audience share and an avarage of 1 million viewers. (Still far from the commercial channels' best rates, but twice as good as MTV's avarage.) So yes we can say there's a revival here.

I dont know the exact reason why we write our surnames first. I know that this "eastern naming order" is also used in Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese. :D
It may be cause in Hungarian language the indicative word is always before the indicated word.
E.g. Paul the Great is in Hungarian Nagy Pál ("Great Paul"). Jean de Bordeaux in Hungarian would be "Bordeaux-i Jean"

Re: HUNGARY 2013

The third heat to me seems to be the weakest. But since there were plenty of good songs in the first two heats that qualified, I'm not too worried.

Oh, sorry I must have missed that comment or forgot about it, but now when I saw it I do remember it slightly... but thanx anyways for your answer (and added info).

It's nice to see a revival in interest, I hope it'll stay that way but I guess with the long time of dis-interest and withdrawal for the contest it's still a bit uncertain. Slovakia is a good example which got good rates for their first two NF selections since their comeback, but due to flopping in ESC the revival faded quickly.

Interesting, I always wondered. I don't think that's the case in Finnish and Estonian, but somehow Hungarian kept it.

Not a good third heat this weekend imo...
I mean, the songs weren´t bad, but most of them were only average. Laura Cserepes was my favorite.

Yes, i liked her, too. She's the one who can surprise the 3 heat winners (who are the favourites as well). But it will not be easy for her to win as the heat winners are very popular (1+half of them are winner of talent shows) while Laura is a just known singer yet.

Re: HUNGARY 2013

Saturday: Cserpes Laura, Gyurcsík Tibi, Kállay-Saunders András, Keresztes Ildikó, Odett, Plastikhead feat. Gáspár Laci, Polyák Lilla, Puskás Peti, Rácz Gergő

Sunday: Agárdi Szilvia & Pál Dénes, Baricz Gergő, ByeAlex, Janicsák Veca, Mohamed Fatima, Palcsó Tamás, Radics Gigi, United, Vastag Tamás

Saturday seems stronger.

Re: HUNGARY 2013

I hope for this outcome tonight:

To the final:

- Cserpes Laura - Élj pont úgy
- Kállay-Saunders – My baby
- Polyák Lilla - Valami más
- Puskás Peti - Amíg a tűz ég
- Plastikhead feat. Laci Gáspár – A szeretet él
- Rácz Gergő - Csak állj mellémç

I hope that 4 songs out of these 6 will qualify to the final.

Good luck Hungary!
