Translation by Panagiotis Papagiannakos.

  • Egnatia Odos - motorway in Greece, passing through Grevena, part of the European route E90.
  • Grevena - town in Northern Greece (west Macedonia).
  • Trehandiri - a type of fishing boat used on the Greek Islands.
  • Alex (and the mermaid) - Refers to Alexander the Great. One well-known fable among Greek seamen involves a solitary mermaid who would grasp a ship's prow during a storm and ask the captain "Is King Alexander alive?". The correct answer is "He is alive and well and rules the world!", causing the mermaid to vanish and the sea to calm. Any other answer would cause the mermaid to turn into a raging Gorgon who would drag the ship to the bottom of the sea, all hands aboard.

I think this is my favourite Greek entry ever. It has a real groove to it. Completely different to the stagy plastic pop we've got from Greece for most of this century (as good as that sometimes can be).

I'm sure this will do very well in Malmo. The strong ethnic elements will appeal to the diaspora and they also have a very energetic performance on stage.

this is what I can bet all my money on!

If you 've watched their live performance from their NF (during competing and -mainly- after winning) you can be sure about it!
