Well, I expected us to do badly, but zero points!? Really!? Even Gracia still got some points and she didn't hit a single note way back then. What a joke. I can only hope that this disaster is going to lead to some serious changes in our pre-selection process.

It must all the more for NRD being beaten by the UK. Especially after the bitch fit they threw over the anniversary show and said we didn't deserve it etc.

The problem is not in your preselection process, but in horrible ESC jury who doesn't have clear and normal criteria at all.. ;)

I'm pretty stunned with this result.

This song it was one of my favs.
That had to be a real punch in the stomach for the German delegation.

And whats more, there's no real explanation for 0 points : (

Well, I agree that the voting is obviously influenced by factors other than the music, but that doesn't change the fact that we haven't had a potential winner song in our national final since NDR took full control of our national pre-selection process. Something has got to change - even if it's as simple as shelling out big bucks for a hotshot producer from a foreign country and asking him to create a great Eurovision song for us.

A final chart update:

I gotta say, that's not too bad for a song that scored zero points...

I voted 0 for this song a while ago and thankfully the voters also disliked it as much.

It was however not the original German winner, so good luck to Germany in 2016 and please no more bland singers.

Well, once in a while Eurovision can bring weird results. It just happens.
It doesn't matter. I still love Ann Sophie and her song. :de: can be proud of her. xlove

I was about to call this and "I Am Yours" the two best songs ever to receive nul points, but then I remembered:

Its just like everywhere we received a decent Television voting (e.g. Albania) the jury gave us a bad voting and in other countries it was the other way around (Finland)

It's hard to believe but in this case the combined results from jury and televote cost us some points.
It's either the jury or the televoting which had given us a top 10 position.
The averaged position is higher than in countires which get some points.

These are the countries where we had the oppurtunity to get 1 or 2 points:
Albania: 16 (Jury) + 7 (Televote) = 12th
Belgium: 5 (Jury) + 19 (Televote) = 11th
Czech Republic: 8 (Jury) + 20 (Televote) = 12th
Denmark: 16 (Jry) + 12 (Televote) = 11th
Finland: 7 (Jury) + 19 (Televote) = 12th
France: 10 (Jury) + 19 (Televote) = 15th
Hungary: 12 (Jury) + 11 (Televote) = 11th
Israel: 5 (Jury) + 21 (Televote) = 13th
Poland: 14 (Jury) + 10 (Televote) = 11th
Serbia: 9 (Jury) + 16 (Televote) = 12th
Switzerland: 21 (Jury) + 11 (Televote) = 17th
UK: 9 (Jury) + 20 (Televote) = 14th

So the bad circumstances are the reason why we got 0 points.
Overall it's quite sad but life goes on. ;)

Have a look at Belgium and Latvia and imagine we had sent Laing. We were such cowards.

(or Fahrenhaidt btw)
I agree with your post although I am myself not part of "We" in that sense. The German ESC song is the result of ONE evening's crappy televoting, and the majority of the voters on that evening does not care at all, if the song and the artist they like so much has a chance of getting any points at an ESC finale. That might even be a character trait of many/some Germans, to see only one's own horizon, disregarding the outside world.

So after a night of sleep I'm still so mad this didn't get any points. :( Poor Ann Sophie, she really didn't deserve it, and the song didn't deserve it either. Unbelievable.
