Plagiatsalarm: Muss Cascada vor dem ESC zurücktreten? - Musik - Bild.de

For the love of God, if you do that to all the songs mainstream nowadays, all of them would be considered plagiarism.

BTW, Glorious is starting to be aired on the biggest music radio stations in France. I think it never happened for a Eurovision entry. Even Euphoria was never aired. (I told somewhere else, we never air Eurovision song, in fact "Me and my guitar" became a hit... one year after Eurovision, when it was sure it wasn't connected to Eurovision ! :D )
So it will soon became a hit in France (a bit too early I think though... )

As far as I know, the radios in France really like Cascada since they had "Summer Of Love" last year. I'd love it to become a hit in France! BTW, it is already out there! :D

OMG! I just read that our Broadcaster (NDR) ordered an investigation of "Glorious", as a reaction of the negative press and the shitstorm here in germany!
It would be a mess if they have to change the song

Noooo!

Germany would be idiots if they threw away the chance to send one of the biggest artists to hit the ESC stage recently, and a song with hit potential. Not to mention the fact there is no reason for the song to be disqualified, anyone can see there's no issue.

This, as been discussed previously there are far worse cases then that EBU didn't disqualify although being obvious cases of plagiarism...

Cascada might not have the most interesting or original entry on earth, but it's far-stretched to call it plagiarism.

The head of NDR is also in the executive board of the EBU, so they will certainly not disqualify "Glorious". They just ordered an investigation to calm down the public. :)

Exactly. Plagiarism could and would be some sort of a breach of rules. What Cascada did is not a plagiarism per se, it's just über-lame. With the emphasis on "lame".

i was just about to say the same, they'll come back and say that their investigation has been completed and that the plagiarism charges are unfounded blah blah blah. It's unfortunate that the outrage in Germany would become such a big deal towards their own entry. Granted, it's done by the boulevard press and unhappy LaBrassaBand's fans so most likely in a week or so things will slow down.

Congatulations, German newspaper...

All the newpapers and websites in France (and also serious and politics newspapers ! ) make their title with "The song chosen by Germany for Eurovision Song Contest is a plagiat of last year winning song". It's EVERYWHERE ! The Frech Press Agency made an article, so it's now on everywebsite...

They make the parallel with the ministers who did plagiarism of their PhD (which has nothing to do, but well...) They also say that it's the case every year as Loreen was said to be a plagiarism of Rihanna or David Guetta (if they say so...)

So, that's very good, German tabloids are just spoiling a song that can lead them to the winning... Tsss that's so bad !

And that's good it will close the debate.
In fact, I listened to them again. And I found out that when you listen to Glorious, you find a similiraty between both. But when you listen to Euphoria, you don't find any similarity... The only same thing is the Glooooorious/Euphoooooriaaaaa... And a similar beat at the end of the chorus of Glorious that is at the end of Euphoria... If you listen carefully, there is no similarity... But that's evil to trash them on rumours... I watched also in the article when people from fashion tell she has ugly clothing and all... Oh they're sooooo boring !

It WAS bad indeed... No need to be Jean-Paul Gaultier myself ! But in the video, they are very sarcastic, and say she"s fat and all (if I understood correctly with the 10 german words I know ! :D ) Derision is great, but it's not kind to laugh at people... ! :)

At least they get attention now, this pays off probably better than being ignored.

True, it is not kind.
I wouldn't call her exactly fat but she's rather plump looking and as a professional artist that she is, she should know what becomes her best during an important performance. With the right clothing, noone would have even noticed she was fat at all.
When you are under the public's eye and scrutiny you should make the right decisions, if you want to avoid hearing "unkind" remarks.
But who knows?, maybe she doesn't even care :)

She deserves good news now! xheya
I am so sorry for her because she seems to be a nice and funny girl and no one should be treated like this.

Glorious ist already #271 on French ITunes! A few hours ago #473 - Climbing fast!

Actually, I think you are right. The pseudo polemic (that hardly interest anyone I must say...) make a great publicy for the song. On the other hand, more and more radios have started to air it. And a lot of people have watched "Glorious" video as it is on every website... It's now (I read) on Voltage and Frequence G (Electro Radios) and on regional stations of Fun Radio (second radio of youngsters, in electro also) and it's played on the website of NRJ (biggest music radio station) as a "future hit". I guess, they are waiting an official releasing (before Eurovision ?) to air it... So you will have a great coverage of the song in France... On the other hand, while we gave a 12 point to Euphoria, it was never aired on any radio because a "Eurovision winner" so the majority of people don't remember Loreen and her G:son hit. ! :)

It lacked something to tell about Eurovision, as we have no funny grandmothers this year ! :D

As we say in France, Talk about me in good, Talk about me in bad, but Talk about me ! ;)
