A-Lister will be letting them know how he feels:mrgreen:

Oh yes indeed!!! They better don't pull that selling-out to English stunt... the English verses are DREADFUL and really out of place in this musical ethno-mix!

I don't understand what Macedonia is up to this year? I mean it's been a lack of self-confidence from the get-go with the changing of the original song, pulling down the video, then the new song, now destroying it with English??

Where's the confidence???

Even Kaliopi wanted to destroy her entry with English, but thankfully she decided to go with the all-Macedonian version to ESC and it payed off !

Nooo! She said couple of times in the interviews that she wanted to sing solely on Macedonian. Her management was considering it as a possible option, which didn't happen. The English was used just for promotion, as was the Russian (which I find pretty great). :)

Oh I see, well the blame can't be put on her then, but the fact that the team considered it though...

Anyhow what's going on this year? So they'll go with the awful English version?

Every version of "Crno i belo" was incredible. English, Russian, dance mix and of course the Macedonian original. The song came from Kaliopi's heart and you could feel it no matter the language. I had a special soft spot for an impromptu performance she did of the song on just piano for ESCTODAY. I actually ripped the audio from youtube along with her performance of "Samo Ti" and played them so much last year.

That is the reason there why live instruments should be allowed in ESC.

Nobody knows, there has been silence from MKTV and the artists, no info whatsoever on what version they will sing, what language...nothing.

Same goes with the official video which was recorded already 2 weeks ago, but still nothing.

"Vlatko, your parts in the song are in Macedonian, didn't ever think that you would use for competition such as universal English, although native language has its charm ...?

Lozano: I thought about it, but we decided that I would sing in Macedonian. I think that every country should sing in their own language. Europe is so diverse and that's what we need to show the world."

Rozhovor s Esmou a Lozanem: O

The only rational decision, and great answer... that is REALLY what ESC should be all about!

Respect!

This song is so bad no language could save it. May as well have gone for Swahili.

There are only two or three songs this year were I'm confident they won't make the Finals and Macedonia is one of them.

Really? You think most of the others have a chance then?

I must agree though, that it's very difficult to predict anything this year. Seems like everything could happen almost.

Semi 1 is wild, any of the songs has a chance to qualify (some more than others obvioulsy)

But in Semi 2 I'm quite confident that Latvia, Macedonia and Albania won't survive that Semi.

I hear ya, well I guess I agree on semi 2 there, but I actually started to like the *new* Macedonian entry after my initial disappointment with the whole Imperija saga started to fade, and I did come to the conclusion that this is in fact a better song... but yeah it's probably without chance, especially since Esma just can't handle this live it seems. I think the odd combo works in studio-version, but in live it just becomes a big mess of it all.

Esma can handle it live. I've said this before, she sings well live (and rather unique as well). What happened in Amsterdam is another story, but just 2 months ago she performed some of her older songs live and she was fine. As for the chances, well we should watch the rehearsals to judge it. Besides, even if none of the people on the forums vote for them, that doesn't mean they won't qualify. Plus there are so many Roma people in countries from the second semi.

Wasn't Sofi 9th in the televoting?

Also you can't compare Esma's popularity with that Czech joke group. ;)

But we'll see...

1- How many of them will watch the Eurovision song contest?
2- How many of them will cast a vote? (considering their living conditions)

I don't think they'll make so much difference.
