Well, they liked Kaliopi's song too (other forums), and... she finished 13th?
Kaliopi was generally liked, but not too much. Her performance in Amsterdam was the best one and the one that probably started changing people's opinions quite a bit (the Eurovision in concert, where she even blew out Pastora and Rona). Not to mention that her first rehearsal in Baku was very powerful. It was the most viewed rehearsal video at the time on escXtra.
She ended 11th with the televote, 10 points short from 9th place. Had the jury voted for her instead of the overrated Spanish entry or the Estonian entry (whose staging was quite similar to Kaliopi's, but much emptier), it would have been top10 without any problems.
I don't say this song is bad, but it just doesn't feel like a concept. It doesn't tell any story. On the bright side, maybe Macedonia can rely on the Romani people to vote for them, from Hungary, Romania, etc..
