Well the angels blessed me and sent me in the direction of a full playlist x thank you very much, So I got to listen to Mercy in full and here is my full uncensored opinion: This is really being super hyped as the winner? I'm literally seeing in so many places people worshipping the song as the best thing to grace the universe. Like yeah it is alright, I don't hate it, but it's hardly anything of any significance. As Rainy put it an album track you forget. It's not really interesting at all, and I really don't see it winning this NF. If it does I will waiting in the background to watch it inevitably flop and every who hypes it fall into an oblivion.
On a side note in complete contrast that, I am officially boarding the Nassi hype train, I really like that song and providing he isn't a trainwreck live it seems like the best choice there.

In my personal opinion, Mercy can reach Top 10 and perhaps Top 5 if the live is great
BUT
I was very enthusiastic when I listened to the song for the first time to the point of telling me that it could potentially be our best ranking of the decade. But I saw that opinions were more shared abroad. People are either very fan of this song or they feel nothing about the song. Yet i had chills when i listened to this song. But when a song divides like. This is often a very bad sign about the chances of good ranking in Eurovision. A song that aims for a good ranking (top 10) is supposed to be more unanimous. People always stay on their first impression. The songs that won the Eurovision have always been unanimous. I am disappointed that my favorite song is not unanimously appreciated. She has no chance of a good ranking (i though the contrary)
I also like Nassi song but i dont see this end in the Top 10 because the lyrics are quite weak and its a song that can't stand out at ESC. Only the chorus is great

Don't get me wrong, it's a banger. But Nassi's vocals were really weak at the pre-recording. Same thing for his stage presence. I fear it's gonna be worse on TV. The song is bigger than him. We all know how that will end up in that case. He came third for a reason.

I don't agree with what you're saying here. On the contrary, I'm convinced a divisive entry is more likely to standout and do well because people either love it or hate it, and those who love it will vote for it no doubt. It can't really sit in the middle in the end, unless juries and viewers disagree. The worst thing is to have a song that is liked by lots of people, but not enough to attract votes.
Of course, every year we have examples and counterexamples of that. Last year, Romania, Croatia and Hungary weren't what we would call "safe" entries, yet they managed to steal the spotlight compared to a bunch of more unadventurous ones (Austria, Australia, Denmark, The Netherlands, and so on...). Hence the importance of being talked about, of generating strong reactions both positive and negative.
As [MENTION=15070]John1[/MENTION] pointed it out, "1944" was hella divisive, yet it won. And in general, no act can be liked by everyone, so if "Mercy" is meant to receive a strong reception from both sides, it can't be a bad thing imo.

I think "Rise like a Phoenix" "1944" and "Amar pelos Dois", just to name a few, are far from unanimous actually I think that's a good thing... if there are haters maybe you're doing something right

I really hope that Lisandro Cuxi will win the whole thing next week. His song is the best one, he is the best performer and has the best voice. Cleary there is no contender against him.
I hope that french people will vote for him massively and that international jury will like him too.

Holding my thumbs for Rêves de gamin
I just hope he can meet the expectations live, which a lot of people seem to be questioning. It's one of the songs that stands out the most to me though.
