...and here comes France!

I know it's a longshot, but I really want this to win, because, after thinking it for a while, it would act as an interesting compromise between different factions and visions of Eurovision: yes, it does have a chorus in English, but most of the song it's still on his native language. Yes, it is well-produced and current (unlike Russia), but not "too cool for school" like other songs this year (Australia, Malta, Norway, etc...) since it actually involves enthusiasm and it is enjoyable and warm. It is not a quirky novelty but neither a dull and joyless mess.

I would be happy with France winning. I think this song could have mainstream appeal. It doesn't sound like a song from the Eurovision bubble.
Who would have thought France could be a contender to win only a few months ago? I think France winning could be good for the future of the contest and it's great to see countries win that haven't won in a long time.

What can EBU do? ESC is here, and it is open for every country which wants to join.

There's just no interest in ESC anymore in Luxembourg and Monaco, and they don't have funds with which they could pay to participate.

Actually Luxembourg wanted to return at some point. I think it was around 2006.

Austria returned after Germany won and so did Italy. The Czech Republic returned after Austria won. There certainly was a connection.

I've now heard this song multiple times and I can't get it out of my head - it's so catchy! I really think this is the best song France has sent in many years and will be a big contender for the title!
