We already have 2 potential troll countries in 2014 like Montenegro and San Marino. More troll entries make the contest non-serious. No, please, keep walking this way France. No matter result :(

Respect to her voice and style.I am not dissapointed cause I discovered her through ESC. I really wished Europeans found her style and song unique as I found it,but one more time France is underrated....I think the draw helped that too....

For me she is the winner, among so many flat songs,Amandine shined tonight!!!

I will follow her songs from this moment!

There are some curse to those who perform at Nr.1 in this competition. First Natàlia and now Amandine? Really, she made a monstrous performance, yet she ended up in the bottom of the list. There are some unmotivated hatred for France, could it be that people doesnt like songs that are directly qualified for the finals?

I tell you if it was (God rest her soul) Amy Winehouse singing this song, every one would pee their pants and vote like crazy. But it was Amandine from France who cannot even rely on some media support in her own country.
Amandine, the song and performance were briliiant.
To me what happend tonight is equal in my private rankings to Portugals last place with 0 points in 1997, really. Biggest injustice ever.

One of the best performance/song tonight. I don't care about the ranking, I care about the MUSIC, and this IS music. Congrats to France and Amandine!!

As I predicted beforehand, I think France came last by televotings (for the second year in a row).

And that's why I'm so confused and clueless about the reaction this got right from the start. Every message board was like "What the hell is this" or "I don't get it". It wasn't anti-mainstream at all and like you said if it was Amy Whinehouse (RIP) people would be going gaga over it.

Maybe it simply was too hardcore and if you go mainstream it has to be ESC style mainstream-lite (Norway 2008) xshrug

I love France. Almost pretty much every year (except 2010). Yet when they try to do anything that's appealing to the more refined taste, they get bit in the ass. Amaury, Anggun and now Amandine. Even Patricia was screwed by public votes in 2009...so their best result of the recent Eurovisions has come from eurotrash - 2010... I hope they don't stoop to the level of some other countries and resort to crappy music to do well here.

Results have been quite fair, but with few exceptions. This is clearly one of them. I think it's mainly because of the draw. So unfair...

Unfair result for France again. I really dont know why Europeans are against French entries. Amandine was perfect, song was very good, everything was great. But they fail again

My top 10 of the night

Amandine sailed pretty much under everyone's radar, didn't she? Her song was one-of-a-kind in this competition and clearly set apart from the others, and yet there was astonishingly little talk about it. E.g. the page number in this thread compared with the other Big 5 is on the low end along with Spain, and Spain was a much more ordinary song. It's the same in other forums. Did the French fail to promote their entry properly, or was it just to strange for the audience to connect to?

Well, that's because France has a low number of members on this forum comparing to the rest of the big-5, except for Italy. But they've returned so strong and get so much talk about them.

Eurovision 2013 has had the poorest viewing figures ever, with 2.8 millions of viewers. it was the 4th xshock program tonight, behind The Voice, Theater and the series Hawaii Five-Zero...

This is really alarming, because actually it was probably the less competitive TV-program, (though The Voice) as usually there is sport on France 2, and theater usually don't have such high viewing figures... That means people are fed up with Eurovision. Only stays a large (and larger each year) number of fans.

But as French people are... French people, yesterday everyone laughed at Amandine saying our song was bad, now that she has lost and is rock bottom, people say we had the best song and that the other countries are idiot not having given us points because they hate us and vote for their neighbours... Same as each year... We do the contrary of others. The more we fail, the more are representants are beloved !

As for Amandine she said on radio :
"I'm very sorry not having been able to give this light to Eurovision. I hope it's not too terrible. I hope my performance has been appreciated though. Maybe my song was not Eurovision enough. Maybe there is geopolitic. But I don't know it and I don't want to be interested in it. I did what I could. It doesn't matter, we were here to give pleasure. I hope French people are not too disappointed. What is important is that all the European countries got together. We were hand in hand. I had many greetings from other countries."

She's so xlove. Definitely our nicest representant ever ! :)

I dont understande why she was smashed by both juries and televoters?
She made one of the best performances on the night. Strange that both France and Ireland did so bad considering their positions.

I totally agree. But I still can't believe how :fr: people are cruel and rude to their own representatives. I'm wondering did :fr: people like Amaury, Jessy or Patricia?

everyone thought Patricia Kaas would win, of course...

Jessy was laughed at and Amaury, France 3 even reserved the Champs-Élysées for a great parade as he was the bookies favorite

Well as i explained Patricia Kaas in 2009 was seen as a has-been in France, so people in fact didn't have high expectations. I discovered on this occasion she was famous in Russia ! And people didn't understand why she went to Eurovision because at the time people in France thought Eurovision was reserved to amateur singers ! :lol:But as she was highly promoted by France 3 who managed to convince people she was going to win, there was very high ratings then !

Jessy Matador was said to be crappy, but it didn't prevent him to be #1 in the charts in the summer ! ;)

Amaury Vassili, I don't remember. I think people didn't care, but as we were #1 in betting odds, people got interested in it, I think... But the hype was mainly among the fans and mostly among the delegation who went to Düsseldorf explaining how and where we would host the country in 2012... It was very stupid...
