A clear fan favourite fail contender, even though I quite like it... But she could be the Mei Feingold of 2018 :/ Really loved Same Heart back then, even more than Monsters :D

Well Saara is not a fan favourite imo... most people don't even seem to like her

Finland deciding they'd rather keep their trend of DNQs. That looked shocking.

I read comments everywhere about how Saara can be outperformed by Eleni. I personally don't think they appeal to the same audience, nor the song neither the singers, they are way different. don't think it will divide potential supporters, only the "fabulous gays" might have that feeling, deciding between a LGBT diva and a fierce slutty bitch... but we all know that's not the whole ESC audience, i reckon they both will have their own public. Both stand chances to qualify. Monsters have being criticised for being too "2010" stuff... but what about Fuego? To me it is a 2005 steretypical ESC song (and I love it for that!)

I have been very critical about the Finnish entry this year, but I learn to embrace Monsters and want Saara to do well, just hope everything goes well. :fi: xlove

I think the production of Fuego does not sound 2005 at all. Ethnic pop itself that was a thing in 2000s, but the production of Eleni's song is very modern. Reminds me of Zara at times.
Monsters, on the other hand, totally has a 2010-sounding production. It's not a 2010 genre given a modern twist, but this song legit sounds like it could win in Oslo.

Ok, let's agree just for a second on that... is that actually a problem? Amar pelos dois was told to be a worthy winner for Lugano 1956 and it won last year. Hey Mamma was told to be old fashion and cheap track too, came third. Then you had Skeletons that sounded modern and polished and ended up 14th. All what I'm saying is that every single song don't need to sound as a current production. I am not saying that Mosnters is a sure qualifier either, i just think that in any event, if it doesn't qualify, their 2010-ish sounding wouldn't be a reason for a flop.

I never said it was a problem. I mean, I am still waiting for that 90-sounding dance pop I love to arrive at Eurovision.
I just stated how I hear the songs. Fuego sounds 2018 and Monsters 2010. It absolutely doesn't mean Finland will flop, but I think it's rather a disadvantage than the opposite, especially with juries.

god knows what juries are thinking anyway, they certainly didn't care that isaiah sounded neither modern nor competent

people are too quick to discard saara, which will be doubly worse if she DOES become NQ because people will still talk about it it like it was a bubble favourite that died outside when it's not even true

This is my #1 favorite this year :D I really love the song and I would like to see her doing great. I didn't like the March performance but I am confident that the one we are about to see in ...less than 2 days now will be worthy of a song like this.

11th in odds to win the whole thing, but 13th to qualify from semi 1. That seems odd to me (pun intended).
