No yugoslav country managed to qualify. Only one left is Macedonia, and Im pretty sure they'll fail. 2013 will be a year to use when arguing against block voting

Yet every ex-USSR country qualified... :(

Come on man, I Hated Darin 8 years ago, why bother pickin' on him now? I know, he's not really a musical genious, but he has been improving so that's fine.
Because his resume is appalling when it comes to "Reason why one should pick an act for a semi-final interval act in the Eurovision Song Contest". I don't mind him being allowed to exist or perform his horribly fjortis-centric songs to his fjortis-filled audience, but keep him the **** away from Eurovision. There's literally no logical reason for SVT to have picked him as the sole interval act on Thursday.

I bet Christer Björkman had a hand in this. He's always involved when pretty boy former Melodifestivalen-entrants with poor vocals get to be involved in Eurovision in any way.

Simply...do not get pts of eurovision purpose to unite differences. It is obvious all songs should be like Belgium and Ireland (some dance pop) and sang in English, I guess it is the point of "we are one". :(

I agree. Darin doesn't belong to Eurovision. He should go chanting with his "fjortisfans" instead. :D

Not necessarily due to block voting. Sometimes, an entire block can send in great songs and have them all qualify. The only borderline qualifiers among the ex-USSR countries was Lithuania. Other than that, none of them were a surprise because they were pretty competent.

It's like how every single Scandinavian country + Estonia gave Sweden 12 points last year. It wasn't due to block politics, but due to the qualify of our entry.

The fact that none of the ex-Yugoslavian countries made the final means block voting failed in the 1st semi-final of 2013, though.

People are completely blind (see what i did there) with Lithuania, why so much hate for this? Just cause it's different?

Am I the only one surprised that Russia qualified? :? They had a similar kind of song as Switzerland and peace-themed songs almost never did very well in ESC...

I didn't think Estonia would look THIS amazing on tv!
My mom said she loved it so much, and when she says that, it's a sure qualifier.

A few surprises. Always liked the backing music for Something. Belgium? Oh well whatever. Was really worried for Anouk but she was the best by far.

What the hell do you have with Lithuanian song? It really deserves the final. Did you really watched on tv this night or did you continued to listen on youtube. It is a soooo deserved qualification. He wasn't the best but definetlly he deserve the final. All the 10 songs deserves to be in the final. The only other that deserve to be there is Montenegro.

I completely agree with you! On the case of Montenegro as well!!! And I would have liked to see Croatia in the final.

Not really.
Personally, I'm discontent that it qualified, due to the fact that it's too bland to make it to the final.
Serbia, Slovenia or Austria were much better than Lithuania.
