They allow split-screen now?

Austria: Mediocre song, good voice, horrible outfit, "meh" stage show (which is to say none). Possible qualifier. Reserving judgment.
Estonia: Like Austria, only with better clothes and at least an attempt at a stage show. Feel good. Will probably qualify.
*QUALIFIER* Slovenia: Tonight's first song with an actual stage show. Pretty good one, too. Competent vocals, OK song, good stage show. Bonus points for the Swedish.
Croatia: They've kept the worst part of their performance in the national final: Mostly singing to each other and looking into the crowd instead of trying to connect to the TV audience. This will cost them. It's all very wholesome, beautiful and melodic, but also very detached. I don't think they'll qualify as of right now.
*QUALIFIER* Denmark: She smiles too much when singing a song that's pretty depressing. Overall, very competent. I still don't want it to win. But it'll do very, very well.
*QUALIFIER* Russia: A pretty powerful performance, even if I still hate the song. The gimmick with the bracelets was nice.
*QUALIFIER* Ukraine: Too many sweeping shots. Way too many. Good performance, but underwhelming. I think they've shot themselves in the foot with the stage show. I won't win, which is a shame.
*QUALIFIER* Netherlands: Good voice (duh), pretty good song, but too much of a high-brow feel over it all. She doesn't keep her eyes open or try to engage the TV audience. The song is also a bit too "real music" for Eurovision. Her chances of qualifying are a bit shaky.
Montenegro: From high-brow to low-brow. Please, Eurovision Goddesses, don't allow this entry to qualify. The girl is great, though, even if her singing voice is pretty whiny. SVT's feed randomly started lagging a lot during their performance and I'm not even mad.
Lithuania: SVT's feed randomly stopped working right as the song started, so I can only go by what I know of him and the song prior to this. Won't qualify. Quaint, but not memorable.
*QUALIFIER* Belarus: As the only Latino-Turkish/Greek-pop-etno-mixture in this year's contest, this will probably pick up all of the votes Turkey or Greece usually gets. Also one of the few songs this semi with a proper stage show.
*QUALIFIER* Moldova: The dress is mesmerizing, and so are her background dancers. The song itself is too high-brow ballady for me. The big hair is back. Too little focus on Pasha.
*QUALIFIER* Ireland: What's with the constant sweeping zoomed-out shots?! Why bother with shirtless dancers and a choreography focusing on said shirtless dancers if you're not going to show them that often? The Celtic stuff was weird.
*QUALIFIER* (possibly) Cyprus: An artist is far superior to her song. A great example of what a great artist can do to a mediocre song.
Belgium: He's so adorable (or is that adorkable?). Especially in the video introduction. His voice is mixed too low compared to the music, though. And the dancers are wearing boring outfits. And most damning of all: He still looks unsure and lost on stage. He needs more time to mature. I want him to qualify, though.

Belgium : A+ for the stage show and the re-vamp. But Robert is still totally uncharismatic and I think that the belgians were tone-deaf when they had him win the voice, because he sounds awful.

Moldova, Denmark, Ukraine, Montenegro, Slovenia, Ireland, Estonia, and Cyprus are my favourite 8 so far... Russia and Belarus will get through too though.

*QUALIFIER* (possibly) Cyprus: An artist is far superior to her song. A great example of what a great artist can do to a mediocre song.

Serbia: The new outfits are not improvements. The whole "Angel vs. Devil"-thing gets lost and they all look like naughty candy shop workers. Good voices, though.

That's the joke of the evening. A month ago Roberto was the laughing stock of the competition and ranked even lower than Romania., Now he could pass to the final, and it wouldn't be totally undeserved. That's what I call metamorphosis.

Serbia wasn't so bad. Maybe they make the cut.

Serbia : Dear god I never thought I would miss their outfits from their NF, but these clothes are just awful. They will probably win the Barbara Dex Award this year. The song is still quite bad and they are still having a bitch fight on stage.
