Yeah but can you imagine being one of the five that didn't pass xshock1

I mean imagine if a country like San Marino who never reaches the final or Austria/Portugal who rarely do still fail! If they can't get to the final when only five get eliminated then what hope is there they ever will xshock. Might as well just give up all together and withdraw xdoh

As always though it'd be because their song just wasn't deserving :)

I prefer a system where juries have more power to prevent diaspora votes, which don't reflect the reality of the country. I don't want Romania (in my case) to get at least 7-8 points from my country no matter the song they sent, I want them to get them only when they deserve.
Even more if we're getting the full results and we can judge every single juror :)

when Romania with its diaspora won last time?

I think Portugal has more chances this time to qualify with new system of ranking (which I don't like, if I am juror and hate particular song or find it clear crap - i still have to give it points? and may be this 1 or 2 points will decide how many this crap will get from country and even can eliminate great song)

I get the feeling that Romania's relative success last year is explained away by the diaspora a little too much. Yes, it would clearly have had some effect, but there are quite a lot of people out there who simply enjoy the song (and/or performance). Australia's broadcaster SBS puts an online vote up every year, and from memory Romania came third or fourth last year despite Romanian diaspora votes not really being a factor in Australia.

I think juries should only exist in semi-finals and final is all about the televotes.

I didn't know where to ask this question, sorry if it is a little bit off topic.
Do we have here active members from all 37 countries that participate this year?

I don't remember seeing much (or any) activity from San Marino, Latvia, Georgia and Armenia over here.

isn't anyone worried about the money
as a televoter YOU pay to vote for song
the jury is paid to vote for songs and can also be manipulated
let's say i live in italy, watched eurovision last year and voted for romania (i payed 1.5 Euro)
from what i know there were around 230k votes for romania last year. that means 230k*1.5=345k Euro. lets say only half will go to the italian broadcaster that means 172.5k euro. if i'm not mistaken that is the fee every country must pay to enter eurovision.

conclusion:
italian people or romanian who live in italy who voted for romania last year just payed italy's participation fee for this year
and the result was one point for romania

all that say that the jury system is the best should tell me: Would they vote again after that happend?
how many votes still remain in the italian votes after you cut the ones for romania??

A vote costs one and a half euro? In Sweden it's about a half.
