France are overdue for a victory anyway ;). So if the EBU want to fix it for France to win and pave the way for Luxembourg and Monaco to return I say go ahead! xsalute

Shame there isn't anyone who return or debut if the UK won  ... I wonder... How are relations with the Czechs these days?

Well if your Scottish you can vote for independence and then petition the EBU for entry ;)

But then again the Scotts probably wouldn't vote for England anyway

Well I'm from England. We don't entertain such a despicable notion here. Even if they get independence I would Imagine being in London (insert winner here country host city here ) for 2015, although that could be quite a tight time slot to get EBU membership. There is quite a large English/Welsh/Scottish population on both sides of the border so there is the Diaspora votes. I bet Scotland will go all Ireland on us and join the Scandinavia block and only give us sub-standard votes.

Andorra is between Spain and France,so i would prefer a french victory,
because we could have more returning countries  (Monaco,Luxemburg,Andorra,Morocco)

One more country might take the stage this year, as the confirmation deadline was extended by ten days for the Slovenian broadcaster RTVSLO.

"We see broadcasters from Poland and Portugal returning to the competition as they seem to be on their way to recovery from the financial crisis, while others are facing tough choices as they are being hit by severe budget cuts," says Jon Ola Sand, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
Substantial effort made

The EBU made a "substantial effort" working with Members to find solutions for financial and organizational challenges, yet Bulgaria, Cyprus and Serbia saw no option but opting out of the 2014 contest.

Croatia stays home due to organizational reasons, Bosnia & Herzegovina withdrew after initially signing up for the contest. Several broadcasters already expressed to the EBU their intention to return in 2015, when the competition celebrates its 60th anniversary.

As France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and the host country Denmark are automatically qualified for the Final, at least 30 countries will take part in the Semi-Finals. From each Semi-Final, ten countries will qualify for the Final.

BNT is one of them. Maybe Croatia and Serbia as well?

I'm hoping when they say Several broadcasters already expressed to the EBU their intention to return in 2015, when the competition celebrates its 60th anniversary. It isn't just the normal bunch we see most years now and we get counties like Luxembourg coming back for the anniversary.

Greece entering must be taken as the ultimate proof that the ones withdrawing stating "economical reasons" as their argument are just using that as an excuse. Why are people so naive to the blatant obvious here? Yes, I agree that some (like Cyprus) are withdrawing for those reasons, but as for most of the rest (Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia) I can almost bet at 100% that the true reasons are dissatisfactions with the juries, how EBU is running this in general and their lack of support in the contest (well the latter maybe not so much for Serbia), they're just not going all out there like Turkey did and say it all in the open (though TRT had no legitimate reasons because they were generally successful anyways).

Oh please, stop it with the excuse of the juries. It's old and I'm not buying it. Bulgaria and Croatia are not countries with especially great televoting results, with the sole exception of Bulgaria 2007. Serbia does very well when they send epic Balkan ballads, since they hardly have found anything else brilliant to compete with.

If Serbia withdraws for bad results, then they should join the sore grapes team with Turkey, because according to that around 80% of the countries should withdraw then. But I don't think that's the reason cause that wouldn't be a reason this time.
Croatia has nothing to complain to the juries, that's for sure......

So please, stop it with the juries. I'm fed up with that. I'm the first one to point out they have a quite boring and predictable taste sometimes, but they are the only way we found so far to avoid that diaspora, friendly and neighbor voting.
I'd rather have this than Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Armenia and a Nordic country every year in the top no matter the song they send, while many countries are left behind just because they don't have friends voting sick for them.

I can say that with Bulgaria the problem is really with the money. The budget cut is one hand, but this year in Bulgaria started the new digital terrestrial broadcasting system and BNT wil have many new expenses in 2014 due to this reason. It's not Eurovision only, BNT stopped some other TV programmes as well and the initial plans for new channels in 2014 were abandoned after the budget cut. Something that happened with the Eurovision project as well. They confirmed that initially the broadcaster had the plan to take part in Eurovision 2014. I think the situation with Serbia is the same as well. Broadcasters in our region are really struggling now.

Morocco will take part only if Israel get out. The same to Lebanon.

Indeed, and would we win, none of those countries would come back  Luxemburg didn't after Lena's victory. And the Monegasque broadcaster is in France, and doesn't care about Eurovision, and even doesn't have any money for this. As I already said, Monaco is the least country in the world who needs Eurovision publicy. They have already everything... So Prince Albert really doesn't care, even if his sister has been a singer !
