To be fair a lot can change in a decade, including tastes and opinions.
I agree. But taking into account the type of entry he's in with, as well as the way he's acting... I am skeptical that it changed much :D

That said, I still really like the catchiness of this song. I hope he goes to Basel.

LMAO

Maybe we really will end up getting Zevakin & Karita.

I liked the song during the nf, but later a user mentioned that Zevakin is a fan of Andrew Tate, a very big fan, one of those fans that fly on purpose to Romania just to meet him in person...
If EBU disqualifies Tommy Cash I hope Estonia retires in protest, because I really don't want Andrew Tate and his incels to be interested in eurovision.

I'm not sure about that. There is a photo he took with Andrew Tate a few years ago though.

He addresses all that stuff in the video below. this was part of his larger video discussing Eesti Laul experience but this specific part is in English.

Could you briefly explain me why this may be disqualified

Fans are speculating mostly about two things: Italy complaining about offensive stereotypes, and the F EBU line in the Joost collab. But there's zero real evidence a disqualification is actually being considered by EBU. Just speculation by imaginative fans and a lot of wishful thinking. So I'd take any such rumors with a very large grain of salt right now.

The disqualification is just a way to create hype around the song. Maybe it will also help Tommaso Contanti gain extra points. His role as an anti-hero who challenges the EBU is lifeblood for flat brains.

I don't understand what is offensive in Tommaso's song. Why does he say the word "mafioso"? 🤔 The song is just awful.

I like many kinds of humour even roasts which can be really mean but in that case the victims are voluntaries, the interesting thing with the estonian entry is that it isnt made with a heart it goes in with the knife in the back of the country of Italy. But im all for freedom of speech so i support its right to take part. But they could have made it perhaps with a blink of an eye not like putting salt in the wound. But im waiting for the italian response next year. Italy is a country with great confidence due to its great culture history and nice alps so it can take a joke but it has a weak spot with the mafia and ethnic stereotypes. But these days even Sweden has high criminality so it is evening out but not Estonia due to wiser politics.

I hope the song will not be banned and I think we should cherish that we can laugh about eachothers stereotypes but one can discuss whether Eurovision are objective would they confirm a song that made fun of african stereotypes about poverty and chaos or one song that joked about Israel being racist and satanic or muslims being bloodthirsty. Or is it only european white culture that can be mocked? Hopefully one can hit in all directions equally. That is the best way of being non discriminatory.

Honestly, one part of Italy absolutely loving this and one part hating it is a fun predicament. I love Italy more than anything, beefing with them over stupid sh* is iconic honestly, especially since it seems to be mostly right wing people who are genuinely crying about it in Italy and whose opinions I will never take seriously. It's so silly.

I still don't see it as mocking Italians or Eurovision at all, he's made outwardly stupid songs his whole life and it's all just for the meme. Having Italian stereotypes in the song as a 'funny' may be childish for some, but if he's mocking anyone it is definitely the businessman who takes himself way too seriously and loves to flex about it persona by turning it into an absurdist concept, that is the main caricature here, and that has nothing to do with Italy lol, the Italian theme just adds to the absurdism as an exaggerated aesthetic choice while making the song stand out.

I watched SNL also and they literally had a long red tie on Trump as Tommy had :D I also think the song is not about Italy, rather he is making joke about white collar culture, and ultimately he himself is the "laughing stock", which is always his style
