Some other people here are trying to build that narrative though, crying about him visiting Crimea (without knowing the reason behind it) and comfortably not mentioning what he has actually said about this meaningless war.

It doesn't matter what he said, his actions have undermined what he has said. And as a reminder, russia's invasion of Ukraine started in 2014, not 2022.

To me, I think in the 'United by Music' era of Eurovision, one country openly mocking and poking fun at a fellow country is just not on.

If a country wants to mock its own quirks and eccentricities, that is fine to me as they are 'in' on the joke - much like how the UK/Sweden have hosted in recent years. They've mocked themselves from a place of affection. A country's song could do that, but about themselves.

One country mocking another in the way that Tommy is doing is just outdated, crass and offensive. It's 2025 for goodness sake, relying on stereotypes of Italians to create a 'fun/quirky' song really is not what the modern contest is about to me.

Imagine the UK doing a song about France with the artist dressed in a stripy shirt with onions around their neck and holding baguettes. It wouldn't be right. It does feel like those defending Tommy are okay with it as it's not their country being mocked. Their tune might change if it was...

He featured with Joost in the music video titled United By Music that just came out this morning. According to the EBU guidelines and brand book it is prohibited in the rules to use the phrase or slogan "United by Music" in any sort of commercial entity without permission from the EBU themselves.

OK. The strong point is that it's instantly memorable. Once you have listened to it, you have to sing Espresso Macchiato Macchiato all day.
I'm a little let down by what's on the stage. The staging is very clever. The singing is very bad. The intentions are to mock the contest and get a wider fame as Tommy Cash is famous in niches (he has had articles in French medias for going to the fashion week dressed like he's in bed, for instance), and his weird videos have been seen by a lot of people, but he's not that popular.

I don't know what to do with the song either. I somehow like and dislike it at the same time...
