I usually like quirky songs songs like this but this one somehow...doesn't really hit the mark. It is fun and all but I am not crazy about it. Maybe I change my mind after the live performance.

Looked way too dark in the previews with the all-black clothes, but maybe it will work in the actual broadcast version. Really hoping for this to do well, traditional Nordic music needs more representation!

Such a fun performance and package, in a televote-only semi, that could be wasted because they had the idea to change it. Never fix what's not only not broken, but works perfectly as well.

I don't know, I was disappointed with Estonia's staging. I miss some of the raw, punk vibe of the video. It's all too aseptic, bare and without energy. Added to this are the lack of cohesion of the group (which moves in a somewhat cumbersome and at times anarchic way) and the weak vocal part. I always thought about a Q. Sadly I change my mind... I hope I'm wrong but Estonia shouts NQ.

it's always been a qualifier to me, I feel like we were exposed to the Eesti Laul performance so many times that we cannot make an aside judgement/judgement from a local's point of view anymore, smh

The video was indeed great. You're right, the performance is missing some of that energy and fun, based on the rehearsal clips...

Woah, how'd we go from 200+ predicted televote points to 12, that's a pretty harsh drop. I wouldn't be quite so doom and gloom just yet. Nothing's really certain, but I don't see why we couldn't sneak in at 9th or 10th place at the very least. There might be enough televoters who find this fun and catchy enough to throw us some votes. Don't think the rehearsal clip was quite so bad that we're a guaranteed nonqualifier now. And while we're 10th in odds, 70% is still pretty decent (tho' like we saw yesterday, certainly not any kind of a guarantee). But yeah, things could go either way. Really hard to judge what the general European audience will think tomorrow, if they'll love it or hate it or something in between. I'm still cautiously optimistic, but won't be too shocked if we flop, just disappointed. The message that will probably send our televoters is: more stuff like Victor Crone and Stefan and Alika! After all, beige/generic song in English qualified while fun quirky song in Estonian didn't! Not the kind of message I'd like to send, personally. And well, it'll just be sad to miss out on the final in any case. But I think there's still hope yet. Guess today's rehearsals and polls might give us another clue or two, but we won't know the final outcome until tomorrow!

In regards to our 2016+ (non)qualifiers, I think Uku in 2021 was the most obvious of them. Didn't really have much hope for him after rehearsals, things were looking far too generic and bland at that point. Think I even predicted his 13th place right in the prediction game that year. Was worried for Alika last year, but not totally hopeless. Same with Victor in 2019. 2017 was a bit of a shock, tho' I didn't much care for the song itself.. but the fact most were predicting it to qualify and do well convinced me we had decent odds. 2022 was less stressful, tho' the stage saga threw a wrench in the works. And I guess 2018 was the most relaxed, tho' the fact it was a polarizing song meant you couldn't rule out a surprise flop either.
In any case, here's hoping we can make it this year! I don't even care if we end up bottom 5 in the final, it'd still be nice to be there! But perhaps there'd be a chance for a nice solid mid-table Stefan result too! But first things first, let's see what the semi brings.

I think we will get a shock qualifier in this SF and that it may be San Marino at the expense of Belgium.

There's definitely potential for a shock (non)qualifier or two.. tho' it could easily happen the odds get 10/10 right too, who knows. Often the rehearsal hypes fizzle out in the end, especially if the song itself never had much hype or mass appeal and it's only the staging that's supposed to carry it. But sometimes a great staging is enough to elevate a borderline entry, so who knows. I suppose we'll see pretty soon!

Was looking at the recap clip for jury final and got more worried there, things were looking kind of messy! But now that I took a sneaky sneak peek at the full performance, the overall package is still better than the clip had me believe. Hope they pick a better clip for the recap tonight. It's not that different from the EL version, so anyone hoping for less chaos will be disappointed. Couple of minor errors to iron out and the fight part is still not that effective IMO, but at least it's not too long. I do like the few added touches: the dancing guys on the LEDs at the end add much needed variety to the backgrounds (could have focused on them more for a few shots) and the new bit of choreo at the end looks pretty neat. Having the crowd there hyped up definitely helps add atmosphere! Looking at the audience poll, it went down pretty well in the hall too. Question will be if the televoters at home feel the same or not. Here's hoping they do! Fingers crossed for tonight!
