It's nice to hear you liked our country so much (should visit Dublin on St-Patricks one day ) Altough I've been living in Belgium for the past 2 years (that long already :shock: ) I still miss the Green Isle... my home
Anyhow... you guys have a great song this year (and I really meant when I said that this is the first good entry from Germany since 1987... which is - HELLO - 23 year ago!!!!). I also wish to apologize... in 1987 Germany should have won (or Italy)... not Ireland)

I felt is was OK for Johnny Logan to win that year. Didn't like the German song - and Mr. Logan earned ~30pts more - so it was a clear victory.
Although I like Lena very much, I think it will be hard to win. Unfortunately the song doesn't focus her style very much and it isn't a "first-time-earcatcher" as well.
I posted some of her performances (Kate Nash songs and other) some postings upwards. So if you like, you can see what I mean ...
But in the end - Lena is on her way and I hope she will entertain us for a long time from now.
Nevertheless I'm looking forward to the contest and can already see us in front of the TV with tons of chips and crackers, a lot of good friends and eventually "some" beer

No, but we have internet now... so "first-time-earcatcher" isn't a problem anymore... I can see many people like the song (in and outside Germany)... now only hope the song hasn't reached its' climax before the finals in Oslo... If it doesn't this will clearly be top-3... if it does... well at least it was in the final (more than we can say the past few years :roll: )

For those who don't know what MezzoMix is: It's basicly a mixture of CocaCola and Fanta (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mezzo_Mix)

Ah, embarrassingly enough I mixed up the Icelandic and Norwegian flags. Hm, I don't like the Eurodance rehash, but it's at least not a cringeworthy-schmaltzy-bombastic power ballad...
Imagine Jack Bauer torturing his victims with music... Using Ik ben verlieft (sp?) would be a very effective means of torture in my case...

Lena enters the official German single charts at number 1, 3 and 4. Since the German charts were first released in 1959, no artist has ever had 3 singles in the top 5. Satellite also enters the Austria charts a number 9. Plus, Satellite reached gold status within its first week.

Man, she's got real comedic genius. Kinda feel sorry for those who don't understand German...
She may not have the best voice in the competition (though it's certainly very nice, particularly the higher notes - lets hope they transpose Satellite slightly higher!), but I trust she's by far the most charismatic and funniest contestant this year. Entertainment galore!

I guess. The odd gaffe is always fun. But those self-important jokesters who hog airtime are tedious. You get em every year and they tend to tax the audience's patience. After all, there are 40+ countries to go through.
The voting might be more interesting to watch this year though as apparently they'll select the countries in an order that makes it look as close as possible in the race to the top.
