Yes, congrats Denmark!! Though not on my top 5, still it's like so many said, a well deserved winner!

And LOVED the " 14 km --------> " thing they pulled, lol! Loving the 'tude of our Danish brothers/sisters!

Yaaaaaay xyaay xyaaay x12s xfruits:

Congrats :dk:, one of my top 2 favorites won! I was rooting for :dk: and  last night, they were the only ones that stood out as winners. I voted for both of them, so happy that one of them won! xcheer

A bit boring though that we've got such predictable winners for the past years (minus 2011)...

I'd rather it to be boring and have good winners rather than having winners like 2011 xrofl2

Wow that was one of the best nights ever. I can say Emmelie was my no. 1 from her very first performance in DMGP. OT has that X factor which imidiatelly gave an ESC winner vibe to me. The song is very sophisticated and unique. Everytime I listen to it it's growing on me. It has almost everything! I knew this song will win even next to jury fap :az:. Em's album is absolutely amazing and I think we have some worldwide succes material there but she has to catch the chance now. I'm 99% sure we will hear a lot of Emmelie in the future! xheart

I feel like I've wasted my time following ESC this year. What a weak bunch of songs and what a weak winner! In the end, I guess it's understandable that a song like this could win with a level like this. I sure hope next year will be more interesting...

I was watching with my family, and everyone had a stoneface when this won. None of us were even cheering for it. Such a weird feeling watching my homecountry win and not feeling any joy whatsoever

Naaa, I don't quite believe you. A secret little feeling of joy surely was hiding behind your stonefaces. :)

I'm sure people had a great time, and it would've been fun to see all the joy and celebration everywhere ;)

I can't say what the rest of my family thought (they just looked totally indifferent), but I know I personally felt nothing but disappointment. I voted for Norway and really hoped Margaret could win. I never liked "Only Teardrops" as I've stated several times before in this thread :(

I loved this one since I heard the 30-second snippet. Beat that xsnooty

During watching ESC, my mom always points out a song that she cheers for and has to win (quoting her: "this has to win otherwise I won't watch ESC again"). And most of the times her instict is accurate. Last year was Sweden, this year was Denmark. In 2011 there wasn't any, in 2010 it was Turkey that came 2nd. I gotta trust her more now

Btw, only San Marino that doesn't have public voting didn't vote for Denmark. All the others did

And Italy was the only country last year not to give any points to Sweden. Dunno what's wrong with this region.

History will show that this wasnt a weak year.In fact it was very very competitive and some very highly polished acts and songs.Emmelie didnt win a weak competition with a weak song. She won a very high quality year with a fantastic song and performance.Everything about the song, the staging and Emmelie when molded together screamed esc winner.

Amazes me people say its a weak year when you had the likes of Anouk and Marco Mengoni delivering superb entries that would never of graced an esc stage 5 years ago.

No ,Emmelie was a fully deserved winner of a strong year.
