i don't wish in any way that he is unable to participate in the contest but i am absolutely 128% against moving him to semi 2. it's nonsense, unfair, and a dangerous precedent. also it's not those two days that will make a difference anyway.

Are you sure about that? :?

it's obvious common sense. how could this not be solved in 8 days but could be solved in 10 days instead?

No, it's not crystal-clear and obvious at all, but you can get either cured or feeling better in 2 extra days instead of 8. Moreover, he should be allowed to compete in the SF2 instead of the SF1 if he couldn't feel better by the beginning of the dress rehearsal.

The Czech Republic already paid the competition fees and the whole trip costs. These include accommodations, food etc...

I am future doctor, almost now, in few months, and as far as I know, for this kind of injuries, months are needed to recover completely, really 2 days won't make him difference. I am sure. But I don't know how serious his injury is now, it is not like I examined it. If it is serious, more than month is needed for sure.

Maybe is better for him to stay out if he is not 100% ok!

It is true that health is the most precious thing in life, but he rehearsed that backflip many times, I hate this bad luck, he had now. So sad.

According to eurosong.hr, his injury is pretty serious and they are currently waiting for MRI and organizers, doctors, Czech delegation and Czech Embassy in Portugal are working together on this. Apparently they are also working on changing the performance.

Well, don't do the backflip then?

Same! Wth? Ditch the choreography and have him sing on a chair or behind a mic stand. His vocal chords weren't injured AFAIK. People won't care, he's got dancers and props. The backflip was unnecessary anyway.

So the latest news is that Micolas is currently waiting for a magnetic resonance in another hospital in Lisabon where he was transferred to this morning. The article referenced below describes Mikolas' spine injury as "serious".

The Czech delegation is collaborating with the Czech Ambassy in Portugal, ESC organisers and distantly with specialist neurologists in Prague. As his injury is serious, "any rehearsals in the upcoming days do not come into consideration".

The Czech Television broadcaster is currently working on a multiple versions of a new choreography for different scenarious of Mikolas' diagnosis.

I'm sorry to hear that his condition is that serious. I hope he will recover soon. Just when Czechia was looking forward to the country's first success in Eurovision that happened...
