How would this be unfair? It's pure luck-based which semi you appear in just like it's just bad luck that semi 2 is a snorefest. I'd agree if one had to somehow earn the spot in the "weaker" semi, but their names just got drawn.

I can see there could be a backlash from semi 2 participants if they move Mikolas to their semi. But if that's the only chance of us participating then I'd be happy with it.

The names are not just drawn. There were 6 pots before the allocation draw. Czech Republic was in pot 5 with Australia, Austria, Israel. Malta and San Marino. If CR is moved from semi 1 to semi 2 that means that pot 5 has only 2 songs in semi 1 and 4 in semi 2. Now according to the organisation these pots make sense, countries are grouped together base on historical voting patterns, so moving countries from one semi to another would definitely be unfair.

i don't wish in any way that he is unable to participate in the contest but i am absolutely 128% against moving him to semi 2. it's nonsense, unfair, and a dangerous precedent. also it's not those two days that will make a difference anyway.
