This is aiming for Top 5, guys!
Could even be a contender to win, but Eline Netsayeva already reserved that trophy.

Hello, friends and enemies. I'm not entirely sure whether I am ready to invest as much of my time and energy into discussing Eurovision with you as I did in last few years, but I just want to say that I am really happy with Lie To Me being chosen as Czech entry. Some of you probably remember that Mikolas Josef was my favourite to win last year's internal selection. Now, after it was revealed that they actually wanted him to sing My Turn, I am glad that he didn´t opportunistically accept the offer just for the sake of being at Eurovision stage no matter what and instead decided to compete again with his own material. The fact that he is composer, lyricist, producer, choreographer and even music video director of his songs is imho the key to authentic and confident performance.

The song itself is so catchy, funny, provocative and wonderfully dadaistic that I fell in love with it after first listening to it and after some more, I've got to say I am addicted (as the good old Serhat would say). None of the previous Czech Eurovision songs (and none of the 5 other pre-selected this year) had as much potential to succeed as this one. With all respect to Hope Never Dies, I Stand and My Turn (each of which still has a special place in my heart), I think that first time in history I do not have to anxiously cross my fingers dreaming about close qualification thanks to pity votes as our way of "victory". What a great new feeling. 12 points, no less.

I truly love & dislike this entry at the same time. I can't stand it partly for the lyrics and because it just is the type of song I normally never am fond of, but I also adore it... Because it does feel really authentic to him and the song has a strong identity and sense of genre, he can sell it, he has charisma, he's a great performer, he's cool, the whole aesthetic of this thing... it stands out from everything else, it works, it's fun. He's talented & dedicated, but he also seems to be having a lot of fun... There's a lot going for this for sure. I also love how he's a young popular musician but that he's willing to do this for a country where Eurovision still isn't popular & honestly he seems like a really lovely person. I think Top 15 at least in the final really is achievable with this and I'm excited about that.

My favourite so far - not a big deal atm considering the other options, but still. Very fresh and unpretentions. Also very un-ESC. Hope to see it up there come May.

I'm sorry, this is not a song for esc
It's bad, ...completely uncompetitive.
You are like fallen from Mars to esc
Dear Czechs, you're not going to the finals, probably!

Just saw the performance in Ukraine, I must say that he has a lot of star quality. I mean, he doesn't do much, he is dancing rather silly, but his charisma really shines on stage and I can't wait what he and the Czechs will come up with on stage in Lisbon, so looking forward to it! :D

I don't understand why people keep saying that the international jury will crucify him. He completely topped the international jury vote. The song is A LOT better than the generic songs we have to offer in our trash-NF.

What about your dreadful national selection then? What an amazing comparison to make with the Czech one, isn't it? xcookie

They are better than the Czech Song, but the most are horrible..

Not sure what to think of this! In my opinion this song should have taken part in jESC instead of ESC. I am afraid this will be taken as a joke entry and not qualify :( . I will have to vote this a 3/10 just because I think is more of a children's song than an ESC song!
