Doody - Magic. true, the lyrics are quite simple and it's not a masterpiece. But its lively, fun and catchy! (and he's good looking ;))
without your love might be nice when you're in the right mood, but when I just heard it for the first time, i was utterly bored!

Oh please, that Eva "Diva" is so arrogant and brainless. She just couldn't take objective criticism with grace and dignity when she has so much to work on, he's not freaking Mariah or Celine, though i'm ure these two take critical notes way better than her.
I watched it and what they said about her act was:

1. The dress didn't match the song vibe - TRUE.
2. Song lyrics are really stupid and out of place - TRUE.
3. The song is no original and a bit boring - TRUE.

She has nothing to rant about, really. You never learn and get better if you don't listen, young lady.

That's brilliantxheat I laughed so much when I saw your tweet. You are the leader of all Eva Diva's warriors. We will continue fighting for freedom. #JusticeForEvaDiva

I'd be very concerned for your life though now, if I were you.

This Wiwibloggs article is the most embarrassing ever. I know it's just opinion but sweet mother of pearl... get some taste hun xqueenbitchhttp://wiwibloggs.com/2013/07/28/editorial-the-top-10-esc-injustices-since-2008/30044/ I do quite like Wiwibloggs though. The amount of insults I've thrown at him. Now one of them being documented forever, I'm probably on a hit list. I have no choice but to go into hiding.

Yeah but the thing is, you just know Christer Bjorkman would be eating that song up if it wasn't by his rival. She has the right to be peeved. I scrolled back through this topic to find the quote I wrote down. This is what what Bjorkman said when giving his critique to Eva...

"Ballroom, Guerilla, Red Carpet, Freedom Fighter" wow, nice critique. I mean.. really?

From my recollection, I can't remember anything being said about the song. At this particular stage of the contest, I imagine everyone was probably styling themselves. I thought the idea was for the judges to see potential in a song/artist, not judge them for their fashion choices? Everyone was just there to present their songs. No one had backing dancers or anything flashy. If she made the extra effort of getting dance lessons and buying a big dress, shouldn't that show them that she's really serious about this?

It's not just this song he gave the kiss of death. There were two girls with an incredibly enchanting medieval-ish folk ditty that he completely trashed, simply because he couldn't get his pop brain around it.

I fear that Anouk is out to kill me, after she was seen browsing the Dutch topic in which I had left many comments, criticising her 2015 composition. Perhaps we could together build an underground lair where all Eurovision fans who's lives are in danger could seek solace?

Yes, that article.. words are difficult. Apparently that mega Armenian hit "Boom Boom Chaka Chaka Chaka" or whatever it was, is better than "Suus".................. Also the trashy "Shady Lady" is apparently underrated.

BUT opinions make the world go round.. perhapsxcookie

That sounds like a great idea. I hope there isn't any OGAE members on this forum, as I hear they work very closely with both Bjorkman, giving him the information on the whereabouts of eurovisions "Most Wanted".

Doesn't this forum have some kind of connection with OGAE Rest of the world? I could swear I remember seeing mention of this.

Anyway, yes we should be vigilant. Can we build an underwater, art deco period city called Rapture (an idea I haven't just stolen from the Bioshock series)?

Sounds like a plan. :D We should make sure there is plenty of room for our dear friends revallsay & Mrm who they may go after.

I remember now finding this forum from ESCTODAY, as I used to visit that site quite a lot. So this is OGAE Rest Of The World's secret base eh? Let's all put our powder blue schlager dresses on and twirlxheat I seem to recall Rest Of The World having quite unusual taste, a bit different to the rest of OGAE though?

Yeah, votes from OGAE Rest of the World are usually the most random votes by far

What was wrong about what he said? He was just making a point that all this red carpet look didn't scream Freedom Fighter! at all.
I know it's mostly about the song and all the rest could be re-worked later but if you're going to present your song and if that song means that much to you just get ready properly and it doesn't include dance lessons and buying a big dress.

Just show what you want to say with this song and be sincere.
Eva was fake all over the place, maybe she was serious about the song but it didn't show. The whole thing just screamed "Look at me, i'm gorgeous".
Real message transcends through language barriers and hits you on your head.
What message would people get if she was singing in greek? Right. I'm such a fancy girl and i'm about to get Oscar.

I watched everything Christer said and he was right 98% of time.
Sometimes he was saying it straight: "I just don't understand it". It's his right to do so.
But when it came to music styles he knew a thing or two about he was very professional in his judgments. Maybe except for couple small exceptions but again...you gotta think twice before inviting a swedish pop-expert to judge a contest.

That's fair enough. It was a strange combination. I can't argue with that. It did look funny to see her on stage in a massive ball gown singing a dance/pop song. I think the main problem though that those of us have with this decision is the history. Even if she came there with the best song ever, she wasn't passing because Bjorkman seemingly has a vendetta against the composer of the song. Also, many of us are annoyed because we truly believe she had the most enjoyable song there. It was generic, sure, but the overall quality of the songs in this selection has been truly laughable. Also, the one intricate, interesting composition there, Bjorkman turns down and that was "Sailing Ships Pirates and Dragons". It was so beautiful, I was almost overwhelmed by it but he didn't "get it" or something along those lines he said. I think Bjorkman being a part of this selection was really pointless and the whole format sucked anyway.

Actually, i'm pretty sure Eva Diva probably wouldn't have won this selection or done that well at the contest had she won. It should be the public making that decision though. She was fun and I wanted to see more of her.

Well, we don't know that, right? I mean, we'll never know if that was vendetta or he truly didn't enjoy the song and performance, will we?
As a pro he was 100% accurate in his judgements about this act and that's what i saw.
I wasn't the one who enjoyed it and i certainly wasn't the one who enjoyed that Pirate song
Christer is a pro but he's a human being after all and he has the right to have his own taste in music.

That's exactly why i agree with the last line, inviting a guy with mind set on swedish pop music to judge a cypriot national selection is not the smartest thing to do after all) Of course he didn't quite understand all these "ethnic" and "local" things and honestly i don't think he had the leading voice in decisions over acts like that, he even said something like that couple times "I'll keep it for my fellow judges because i don't understand if it's good or not, i'm not used to that type of music".
