So they are looking for a pop song with klapa elements now? I'm still not getting good vibes from this, I don't understand why HRT are limiting their choice to that genre.

Tinchey you read my mind, I came here to post that video! If HRT send something like Dite then I think Croatia will do very well! Dite gripped me from the start and it's very very powerful. I'm worried that popping it up might dilute it into something trashy, so something purely Klapa but at the same time very modern like Libar would be amazing.

Disappointing.

Danke, CC92 we're on the same wavelength! Most traditional music across Europe is amazing and for the first appearance of traditional music on the Eurovision stage to be sullied by some disco beats and a pop singer is devastating for the genre. Send pure Klapa in 2013, then get back to putting pop in. It worked well for us in 1996 and for one of us for Norway in 1995, then we sent trad/pop in 2005 and look what happened there.

Hmm, actually I think Croatia would flop with something like 'Dite', I still think something like 'Proljece' would be working best.

You obviously haven't been listening to the crap HRT has been sending the last few years if you were hoping for something modern.

I think it will take a miracle for them to find a song in the Klapa style that will massively appeal to anyone outside of the ex-yu region (if even there). Even the Luka Nizetic song wouldn't have done any better than Boris Novkovic, Magazin, or Danijela would have in 2005.

Well, modern is maybe not the right word here tbh, but more like... I dunno how to explain it, but not as boring as these? And I'm not against the idea of slow or mid-tempo, it's just that these type are really meh imo.

2005 and 2006 were great, Proljece from the 2005 NF was great aswell... so anything like these and Croatia has my support but not the boring style that is rumored here. And thumbs up for Magazin and Danijela aswell! And of course Jelena Rozga

Agree for klapa well, I wasn't for klapa since the beginning, so I've lost hope the same moment when they announced that klapa is going to ESC :/

Most of authors didn't want to send the song for Dora because they don't agree with HRT's rules :/

Pero Kozomara, Marko Tomasović, Davor Petrović, Tonči Huljić didn't send the song, Andrej Babić said that he's sent the untypical song

Since klapa Rišpet with lead singer Ivo Amulić is his idea and he formed that klapa and is writing all the songs for it, it seems we can breath easier about rumor you posted few hours ago, right?

Shame for Marko Tomasović, he could write great song. Wow, surprised that Andrej Babić sent the song since he has never wrote klapa song. At least, I don't know for it. Well, he didn't say he wrote "untypical song" but he said he made "untypical klapa song".

In new article it is written that Marko Tomasović actually sent a song...hmm...I hope that is true. Also article says there is about 60 songs that came to them.
Also, I like at least 2 or 3 people that are chosen for deciding about song. I can't say about third one as I don't know for him. But Nikša Bratoš and Ante Pecotić (esc fans will know him by Stotinama godina) are good authors.

HRT announced that they have received approx. 60 songs, one of which they will choose to represent Croatia in Malmö. A selection jury made of three people will listen through the songs, and choose the best one to be sent to Malmö.

I actually think 60 entries are quite decent considering HRT is limiting the selection with focusing on a certain genre and Croatia's not so successful years in ESC lately.

The newest news say that the songwriter is known. The lyrics for this year's croatian entry will be written by Zlatan Stipisic Gibonni, known only as GIBONNI. He is a very famous singer and songwriter from Split, with a lot of good songs during 1990 and 2000 which were listened and appreciated. He also had cooperation with some american singers. In the last time he is writes the songs, mostly. Personally I liked his songs so I hope that this song could be nice aswell.
