Re: BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA 2013

I have loved all Bosnian entries... only 2002,03,05 were kinda weak.

Sad to hear we won't have :ba:, but hopefully their other broadcaster can take over and keep Bosnia & Herzegovina in the contest.

What an odd day indeed.

The public broadcaster of the entity of Republika Srpska, which forms a part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, RTRS wants to take over the broadcasting rights to the Eurovision Song Contest and send a representative for the country (top story in their official website). Bosnia and Herzegovina is divided between Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats with Serbs making up the predominant majority in Republika Srpska whose capital is Banja Luka.

RTRS is working on a project with a band called Alexandira who was preparing to send a song under the working title “Horizonti” (Horizons) to Eurovision. RTRS says it is willing to finance Bosnia’s participation at Eurovision and called BHRT’s withdrawal a disgrace. “As a result we will fulfil our duty towards Bosnia, its people and offcourse promote quality music from Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the former Yugoslavia”, the general director of RTRS Dragan Davidović.

This is just one of their ways that would show how they're better of alone (independent). If they take over will we be seeing Serbian artists only?

It was agreement between RTRS and BHRT that this year RTRS will select act and song internally. And they do it. RTRS together with Maja Tatić (BH 2003) and composer and singer Jadranka Stojaković work with group Alexandria on song for Eurovision for last three weeks. And now this shocking news just day before deadline.

So obviously money is not a reason. And there is nothing political in this. And in Bosnian constitution Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats are all equal in this country. So your chavinistic attitudes please keep to yourself.

God, fuc**** politics is everywhere

I know what you mean, and I respect each nationality over there... but I'm really against the thing called Republika Srpska.

What to say xshrug
