Maybe she is pulling a Blanche, however, Blanche had an amazing song. A Matter of Time is just a boring attempt of creating something sophisticated. I liked Would you? more.

Nope - I won't say that. There is still time for improvements and critics are saying she was good in one of the performances. We haven't seen the whole performances yet.

What is there else to see? Her alone on the stage singing mediocre song?

This will hardly see final.

I meant that she can improve her high notes which were not as good as expected - I was not referring to the staging.

come on drama queens, get a breath of fresh air, that was cool, her singing was more than fine, I still don't like the song but it's a very safe song, the dress is ugly but Croatia 2016 was in the final, she's gonna be top 5 in her semi.

so with that being said : Happy Birthday Laura ! :be:

It's not a winner. I wonder where it will end up in my final ranking.

I don't think she was bad, it was lacking stage presence. Sorry to break it down for you.

Interview with William from wiwibloggs:
Sennek is such a lovely person and she seems to know what she's doing with the song and the performance. Go Belgium! xup

I'm not giving up just yet. 'Matter of time' was my favourite song since its release, but I haven't felt it in any of her live performances.

To me (untrained listener!) it still seems she's not hitting her notes in the chorus.

But I'm willing to wait and hope to see it improved in a week or so.

You are right. I liked the song since the first time I listened to it, but there was just no live version until now where her voice convinced me. It lacks of the emotion and she doesn't hit the high notes. I hope she will do better with such an awesome song.

ultimately nothing gets in the way of an appealing song. nina kraljic advanced from a harder semi, with a much worse performance, from a country with less jury leverage, with worse staging and clothes. if people love a matter of time, it is advancing even if sennek doesn't get the rest together.

With :hr: and other written-off entries of SF1 being obviously stronger than predicted when it comes to staging, I really can see :be: not qualifying if they don't get their stuff together and if she doesn't have decent vocals in the end!

That's what many people said about Blanche after the first rehearsal, and she had a really bad start considering staging and "public relations". I am quite confident, that the very good song will be rewarded in the end. It will not only qualify but also do well in the final.

Yeah I really now what you mean and I also had the situation with Blanche last year in mind... But the thing is that in my opinion her song was a very modern radio friendly one which many people outside the Eurovision bubble enjoyed at the final evening... And yes, in the end she almost had a decent staging although personally I still disliked it a lot. With Sennek it's a little different: I'm having serious doubts about the appeal of her song anyway (especially to the televoters) but with a dark, off-putting staging it might get even worse...

The song itself is too good not to qualify. But with that staging - or lack thereof - she has no room left for vocal shortcomings. If Belgium picks an oldschool bombast ballad at least they should go all-in with a fitting oldschool bombast staging. What is that dress? Woodstock meets the Academy Awards?
