It was better than last time, but I don't take these pre-parties seriously anyway to judge, it will everything be excellent in Lisbon. :)

I agree!! I'm not worried for Sennek, Blanche had the same roller coaster last year and she slayed at the final.

Her voice is okay, but I miss the passion here. It sounds like she's somewhere else with her mind.

Sennek is doing better and better it seems. The scene, lightening etc in Amsterdam is also in the direction I would like her to go in Lisboa.
But she NEEDS to really nail the vocals for her song to stand out. Still in my top 5, though.. I think.

Sennek is singing way out of her vocal range. I can tell that it's really uncomfortable for her to sing in that part in her register. When she reaches the chorus she needs to shift in her vocal register so that resonance comes through, or else it will just sounds flat like it does now. It was very noticable in the studio version that she was trying her hardest to sing on top of her lungs and using her higher chest voice. If she can't get help from a vocal coach, she should at least sing in her lower chest voice or transition smoothly from her chest voice to head voice and then to mixed voice. Otherwise, the key of the whole chorus needs to be lowered for her. My guess is that Sennek is relatively new to belting and probably isn't very comfortable with the technique yet. The problem with the key of the song is that it forces her to belt out the chorus in her head voice when belting doesn't even need to be in the higher chest voice. This is a very fixable issue, but yet they insist on her singing in a register she obviously is uncomfortable with.

Why would she write her own song and not be able to sing it well? In any case, Belgium might have a Kate Ryan moment this year. It is certainly not in my Top 10 of Semifinal 1.

between the disastrous display of no comprehension of society in the israel thread and this nightmare of a meaningless vocal analysis in this thread, i think this board has reached the lowest point of the season

oh how i miss when the worst thing about this board was just gianlucatomoe

And I thought that the worst problems in the world were wars, hatred, homophobia, senseless attacks against minorities, etc...

i mean i am not SAYING you are worse than wars and oppression (... maybe?) but this board isn't the world and we don't have wars and oppression here (or we didn't until the israel thread became trash)

either way your absurdist style of posting and general misandry is heaps better than some of the jerks that have been posting lately, as annoyed as i used to get before. even this answer made me chuckle. please don't go away lol

1) Maybe not in this forum (which is questionable anyway), but denying that in the eurofandom there isn't a slight form of oppression against certain "kind of singers" and musical styles is naive.

2) I know, darling, but unfortunately I have this awful thing called "life" (ewwww, even just the word makes me want to vomit) that keeps me far from being as present as I would like to be, spreading out all of my love, kindness, generosity, etc, and teaching them to those trolls you speak about

gianluca believes we hate songs performed by one gender just because it's the gender he likes

i know he'll prove me wrong but i've never gotten rid of this mindset ever since i saw his ways

I still don't understand all the fuss even after playing song multiple times. Quite frankly, I still don't see it qualifying.

I am going to quote myself this time, after Israel Calling performance, and only one more time after semi-final in May just so I can say "I told you so" or "I have been in denial this all time". :D

Last year Blanche's "City Lights" was my favourite entry of all, and this year Belgium sends an amazing song again, wow!!!
And before that, "What's the Pressure" and "Rhythm Inside" were also terrific, original, well performed entries.
Thank you for the music, it seems like Belgium is my personal number one ESC nation these years.
Greetings from your neighbour in Germany: xlove
