Does anybody know if it is allowed to sing with such a strong voice masking as JSB do at eurovision? I mean - the rule that you have to sing live has the deeper meaning that you have to show your vocal capacities. If you change the voices that much, that is not possible. Up to now I don't remember a contestant that did this so far so there is no example but is there anything in the EBU-rules?

Denmark 2001 won with vocoder usage but I'm not sure of the rules on 100% usage. Heart of Stone had a 50/50 mix though so something like that may be allowed

there are no rules. since there have been entries with very short vocal parts and jsb dont use voice masking throughout the song it will be ok as long as it is live.

I wasn't a fan of Dawa from the earlier shows but they have the best songs. Neither of JSB's songs come anywhere close to being as good as Heart of Stone. I don't think they are going to win anymore.

Yeah, I agree JSB's songs aren't as strong as Heart of Stone but they still become epic when performed live.

After a few more listens, JSB's songs are growing on me, especially Monsters. But the song I've got on repeat is Feel Alive

Also, I don't mind either of Folkshite's songs

Johann Sebastian Bass "Absolutio" They could invite Essi Luttinen (of Opera Skaala) on stage with them and they'd have an instant fan favourite. "Monsters" is great as well but we wouldn't get the operatic singing with it.

I'm in the italian jury and according to me that song is really catchy and different from the others in the contest this year (although it sounds more french than austrian )

Celina Ann or Dawa might have been a good choice in any random year but JSB are just too perfect for representing Austria on home turf.

It's too bad the songs by the Makemakes aren't available yet. I'm no fan of Folkshilfe and I just cannot stand hearing the word Papi anymore, so based on that alone I don't really miss Zoe here.

I think Absolutio is the more powerful choice.
