I really don't see them having the same appeal. Just because they're both uptempo conceptual songs about beverages I see Go-Jo having much more jury appeal and Tommy Cash having a broader televoting appeal, but even in the televoting I can't see them fighting for the same voters. The Milkshake Man is going to absolutely market correct Espresso Machiato and sabotage it's top 10 potential. Both of them will qualify, but won't be able to finish past the high teens. Right side of the board for both of them.
nope.I'm little worried this will flop unless they have a budget and deliver solid staging. He's a sexy man and I hope he just let's his charisma and quirky sense of humour speak for himself, if they go too overtly sexual like Olly did last year we have no chance
What???? Blasphemy!!!Now, this is a fun entry that I actually like!
It's very Mika, and I'm a huge fan of his.
I'm giving it an!
One factor imo is the eurofans have recently been very critical of the songs that have a fun theme after Cha Cha Cha. After Cha Cha Cha's success, now every fun entry is compared to it and put under the assumption that "the artist is trying to copy what Käärijä did to success" as if novelty entries have never been a part of this entertainment. Last year was much worse than that but still this obsession has been taking over. It has reached such extreme point that even Croatia's Poison Cake was attributed to be a "joke entry" which is crazy to me.I'm struggling to understand why this song is so divisive for the online ESC fans. I think this song would be openly enjoyed by more of the online ESC communities if he was representing any other country than Australia. Like to me he's not literally saying serving c***t or saying I'm coming, come with meThis is a straight forward pop song with sexual innuendos, that would still be played on the radio with or without the contest. He's not just putting in an obscene sound alike word that makes no sense or has no context with the rest of the song like some others, just saying!
I’m not quite sure that’s true. Yes, such comparisons have been made in the wake of Cha Cha Cha but I think that’s in the case of cynical ‘copies’ aiming to be the new Kaarija. Milkshake Man is not that to me - he feels like a ‘fun’ act from any era of the competition. One factor imo is the eurofans have recently been very critical of the songs that have a fun theme after Cha Cha Cha. I read it as erectionI'm leaning to thinking it's qualifying, as long as the performance and staging is fun enough to grab casual viewers attention?
