Re: AUSTRALIA 2015 - Guy Sebastian

I love Like A Drum, it's a great song and it was on repeat in my computer last spring, it even made my top 100 most listened songs according to Spotify.

Picking a guy is kind of a smart choice, considering since 2010 the winning act has been female (2011 was both genders and 2014 was kind of female .. yet not). But the choice is a bit dull, I know Kylie was asked but I to be honest I expected something more than this. Courtney Act would've been funnier. Seriously, other countries has even picked more interesting choices, like Slovenia.

Not impressed with the choice at all, but I'll wait for the song before I can make a proper statement.

Interesting how EBU referes now its first entry instead of its one-off entry.

Noone uses "one-off" anymore. Instead they refer to Australia as first entry in the competition or wildcard. And SBS really left the impression that they plan to return next year and are here to stay. Even Dami Im wrote in her facebook - " Although it wasn't the right time for me this year, who knows what might happen next year?"

Anyway, looking forward to Australia's song this year and to welcome our newest member in the Eurovision family :)

I think EBU's gonna host in the runner-up's country. What would you think about that?

It wasn't confirmed already that Australia won't host next contest, in case of their victory?

Yes, they confirm that they won't host. According to the last news Germany will organize the contest with them in that case...

So if somehow Australia won, who'd be making the trip down under? :D

Last night they confirmed that CBS will host it in Europe

The reaction across the net is hilarious

A bunch of gays who are pissed off that its not a female artist with some big stomper  A once in a lifetime opportunity and Australia throws it away on this

You wouldn't believe how many, "f..k off Australia" remarks I see. And many of them from people who were ecstatic when it was announced they would be participating.

No it's not decided which country will host the contest in case of Australian win. Of Australia wins, they will host the contest in a European city, but which one is up to a decision of SBS. It could be Germany as SBS have some kind of deeper connection with their broadcaster, but it could be another country. Even in such case, the show will have Australian flavour, will be hosted by Australian hosts and basically everything will be decided by SBS.

I don't know, but I think its suppose to be a unreleased song from his current album...which I believe has already been released. At least that's what I've been reading xshrug Everyone is also saying its most likely going to be a ballad

That's indeed what he said in the press conference. He's narrowed it down to two unreleased (i.e. non-single) songs from his album and they're both ballads.

He suggested that a ballad was a good way to stand out from all the crazy stuff at Eurovision. He hasn't studied his competition much.

I think it will be between the UK and Germany...they did call us the motherland after all. ;)
