Re: ARMENIA 2013

Emmy really was utterless crap, I'm still shocked that she wasn't the red lantern of her semi but like 11th 0.o
Could you imagine that if Belgium & the Netherlands would've been in her semi that she'd have qualified  (& Turkey probably also...)
Luckily that didn't happen.. rawrrrrrrrrrrr

The worst part of it all was how weak ESC 2011 was that it wouldn't even been that unfair had she qualified

I'm so sorry for the spam ...
Message to all my dearest Armenian friends here T_T
I want us to make me a favor.
Can you traduce this song, please?
I like it too freaking much!
It'll be my ONE WINNER if LILIT will go to Malmö with this song *-*
And another question, do you ever heard Lilit LIVE? :s

In an article posted by Armenian news web portal Haykakan Zhamanak it said that “We received information that the Armenian Public Television suggested opera singer, actor Arman Nshanyan representing Armenia at Eurovision 2013,” it then went on to add “In an interview with our reporter, Arman Nshanyan neither denied nor confirmed this information.

Oh God, not opera!!! xpuke

What's happening with Armenia!?, except for their first entry Armenia sent some pretty good entries, then in 2011 the fiasco started and they want to come back with yet another one? Such a shame xpuke

To be fair none of the Opera songs so far have been good. Having said on paper I can't see Armenia changing that.

And with all these interesting artists Armenia has... I like their language and their music so much except all their ESC entries (apart of 2010  but their entries in 2009 and 2006 had some good elements with the folk music used, although I wasn't fond of them), now they'll go for opera? :?

Lilit Hovhannisyan, Sofi Mkheyan, they are so nice and can come up with something great for ESC! Why to ruin it? :?

@A-Lister: Layana is very interesting artist too. She is more folk than pop folk, I love that instruments used in the 1st song, but it would be better if it wasn't become uptempo from the half song onward, from that time it reminds me of some Albanian folk songs I've heard (it's not a bad thing surely, I liked these songs). It's still a nice song overall, though! :D

I agree... what's wrong with their 2010 entry though?

Armenia had a working formula for them in ESC, why change that? And it's not as if all songs they sent are that similar (even if the majority included ethnic elements). And even if the opera cr*p would include ethnic elements, I still don't see it helping.

Well, personally I have an extremely hard time for Opera in general (aswell as Popera which is the hybrid we've seen mostly in ESC).

Actually I said that 2010 entry was the only song I liked from Armenia so far (you can see it in my all time top 50 too)!

2008 and 2011 = dislike
2007 = ok, but forgettable song
2006 = would sound better if it was in Armenian, because his English accent wasn't good at all. It had good instrumentation. I didn't like the choreography, though
2009 = I don't know if I like or dislike this one. Like 2006, nice instrumentation, but I think it was too "folk" for my taste (in a bad way, we call this "villageness" here if this makes any sense). And I got the same feelings for Moldova 2009. Two songs that I haven't decided yet if I like or dislike them! :|

I see, I totally misunderstood your point then (I thought you meant it was the only one you didn't like )

Well, here we disagree obviously. The only Armenian entries I dislike to date are 2006 and 2011 (although 2006 could have been a bit better if sung in Armenian I guess). 2007 has grown on me, but it also should benefit from being 100% in Armenian.

My favorite Armenian entry to date is 2008 though, and I love 2009 aswell :) 2010 comes third on my rank of Armenian entries.
