Zjerm is like any song from Georgia in the past decade. The main public will not get it.

Zjerm is like Telemoveis, will be so hyped here but too niche and unaccessable for wider audiences.

They need to work on some things to make it look slick and expensive but I can totally see them going through the Telemoveis route instead.

I hope she has changed her mind or at least that in today's finale there will be few disappointed bottoms and closeted gays. And no one will suffer, especially Orgesa Zaimi :ROFLMAO:

"I need to say that these bottoms and closeted gays are more dangerous than any other person, they transform their frustration into hatred, and because of this, they can even kill you."

Before I start this post, I will say that I like Elvana. Her songs outside of ESC are generally great. Despite its popularity at the time, I really felt nothing from Me Tana, and Karnaval for me is below that even. Yeah, ok, she brought the budget with that performance, but it didn't lift the song for me in any way. Compare that to Ardit Çuni's Amane. I wasn't into his entry either but then he had a mini Chanel moment on stage (albeit more bless) which totally lifted it, becoming a dark horse in the process. He was joyful, full of energy and went really, really hard. He slammed it all down and reeled me right in.

Meanwhile, watching Elvana awkwardly coming down from the ceiling and then slowly walking across her dancers backs with assistance doesn't really do much for me. With a song this mid and Maltese NF-esque, you need a charisma overload to be able to sell it which unfortunately just isn't there. Add on top of this that Ardit's entry feels much more Albanian. If you want a bop, then he's the clear choice.

As for Zjerm, I agree with @hijirio and some others here in that I fear it's too niche for Eurovision. I mean, I personally don't care that it's too niche. I want entries I love to compete and this would just be wonderful to follow and then experience at my favourite show this May. It is though something to at least bear in mind, to maybe not overhype the entry's chances if it does go. It wouldn't be a dead on arrival pick, but it's tricky. Zjerm is also something though that can be worked with and does have potential, quite a lot of which has been untapped thus far.

Kolë Laca's spoken word part is probably its biggest problem I fear. I love his bit and it needs to stay, but cutting to a muttering guy standing dead still for 30 seconds will just confuse the average viewer. If they make it to ESC then his part I think needs to be the most visually striking moment of the performance. Make that 30 seconds a whole mood.

I absolutely love his spoken part, I've been seeing a lot of criticism for it - it sonically creates a really wonderful moment of contrast.

Visually, it can be worked upon, but with a good art director it wouldn't be too hard. Hopefully with Ireland's triumph of a performance last year, people will see the potential so much space and technical gadgets can actually bring and utilize it.

Also, I kinda get the "too niche" thing (although I don't consider Zjerm to be an out of the box option, really) but that's hardly a reason to not send an entry like it. If everyone is sending safe stuff that we're sure are going to do well we're stuck with an endless loop of bop girls and Käärijä/Baby Lasagna boys flapping about.. it's hardly going to make for an exciting time.

Taste is taught. It should be artist's job to expand a public's view and tastes rather then go with them.

From the "ethnic" entries we had in recent years, i think Telemoveis (with Eaea) is the most niche and experimental song you can possibly have. This is only my opinion but i think Zjerm is way more accessible. I hated Telemoveis and no matter how many times i'm listening to this song, i will never get it, while Zjerm instantly clicked with me.

And like Seregil Korit, i also really like the spoken part !

Proportional voting in the final so the alleged child trafficker has less of a chance to not win now. We'll see how tonight goes.

Lorenc Hasrama could end up being the compromise winner that no one is talking about.
