Re: Your general wish-list for Eurovision 2009

I wish (for):

 • Juries be forever gone so European songs and culture have a chance (and all the other obvious reasons)
 • Random running order so there's no trickery or unfair advantages given
 • Hosts not being too formal, stilted, cringe-inducing and OTT when mentioning their country like last time it was in Israel
 • Great interval act like last time it was in Israel
 • Eye-pleasing postcards. Enough with the ' informal realism'. Let's see your best sights (and that includes the artists..)
 • No more backing singers (to ruin a song), it should all be recorded
 • Some awesome dancing
 • No more close-ups of fans
 • More epic songs

Does that mean you want an arena made entirely of LED screens or absolutely no LED screens allowed in the arena?

No more hosts than necessary. Last year Filomena could've done the whole thing herself beautifully.

Another win for a country who's only won once

A 2003 kind of winner/voting (with two nations or more behind with only few points less)

A stage that isn't round in every possible way

- Up to ten performers allowed on stage.
- More time spent on the music and less on the voting segment, maybe open voting from the start again to make up for this.
- Announcing of top 3 points from each country again.
- Spokesperson to announce the televotes only, or both the televotes and jury votes. NOT the jury votes only, which is not the opinion of the people in each country.
- Switch to 2/3 televote and 1/3 jury vote.
- Gibraltar, remaining EBU members and the United States to join.

my wishlist for 2009 is dmitry shepelev hosting and sandra nurmsalu in the top 3

(2019 needs to have an equally cute host and i guess sandra nurmsalu in the top 3 since she's doing EL again)

I asked them to change the mistake in the title (since I started the thread), but no response on that for months

A-lister I think if you go to edit your first post you can edit the title of the whole thread.

I wish that "Its my Time" and "Sil fallait le faire" got 0 Points from the Juries.

I don't know if anyone else noticed but I hope the EBU fixes the BDS troll problem they have on Facebook (it doesn't happen that much on other platforms) before the start of artist and song reveal, because they might start harassing the artist (like they did with Jessica Mauboy this year) and are already posting borderline anti-Semitic comments such as :Israelis are thieves, have no culture, are European colonizers (despite the fact that a majority of them are of Mizrahi descent) etc..

- Kazakhstan's debut
- Russia FINALLY submitting an authentic entry again
- Sweden not being overrated by the juries again
- FYR Macedonia finally not messing up the live performance
- Israel submitting a touching ballad performed in Hebrew
- Spain & the UK actually trying
- Seeing a new country win (if the song's good, of course, e.g. Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Iceland, Cyprus, Armenia...)
