Get to know the Xhanostanian Artists

Züleyha Ortak is representing Xhanostania in the 97th edition of the Nation Song Contest with the song 'Merhaba'.

Zuleyha was born in Bitlis, Mutli as the 8th children of her family.
She graduated from Çağaloğlu Anadolu Kız Meslek High School - Office Management & Assistance and then continued her education in Marmara University.
While studying, she also attended to art school exams and then she got accepted to study Turkish Music.
She studied there for 3 years and then she became working as a worker of Zülfü Livaneli in Vatan newspaper.
At first she was an amateur in music but then with the help of Zülfü, she became a professional in future. In 2009, with Zülfü, she had a concert and 7000 people were watching it live. And she sang the Kurdish version of yigim Aslanım, and the audience loved it and found it great. Then she started working on her album. And they worked with Seyhan Music.

In 2010 mid December, her album got released. "Etnik Dillerde Livaneli Şarkıları başlığı" and "Tek Dilde Yetmez 10 Dildi Merhaba" were the slogans of the album Merhaba. She used the languages that once existed in Turkey and wanted to serve their treasure and by doing so she achieved a big success.

Merhaba is still on top in ethnic music charts and this is just the beginning of the music journey of Zuleyha. She sings many languages in her song which include: Turkish, Kurdish, Lazca and Armenian.
